Duping Floppies

I have an ongoing need to make multiple copies of various floppies. The standard windoze implementation seems to require that the master be reread for each copy I make. None of the freeware/shareware options I am aware of seems to have received glowing praise. Is there a good option on a Win2K machine?

FYI, my current practice is to dup my windoze floppies on my Mac. Works like a charm. Would like a non-Mac option anyway just in case.

Unless you need to make a pure image, just create a diectory on your HD and copy the master floppy to it.

Then put the new (empty) floppy in the drive and using the explorer, drag the files to the floppy icon.
Alternatively, use the Xcopy command in a DOS window to do the copy.

Either way, the fastest way is to place the image on the HD first

I slick program called CopyQM will do what you require. Apparently it has been abandoned by Sydex, Inc. (www.sydex.com)

Forgive the dumb question, but while I know how to create directories in DOS I am not sure what you mean by creating directories in Win 2k. How do I do it?

I tried dragging the files from a desktop folder to the A drive and it was excruciatingly slow.

WinImage might do the trick.

horhay That is what EagleKeeper meant. Just create a folder and copy and paste the files off of the original disk to the folder on your hard drive. Then copy and paste the files to each succesive disk that you would like to replicate

We use DiskFactory to make/restore disk images that we can email at work. It's fairly easy to use.
