If you're new to overclocking then you're easiest bet would be to use MSI's FuzzyLogic3 program - it automatically overclocks to a stable (yet overclocked) level.

First you should connect the L1 bridges on top of your CPU using a pencil or defogger reapir kit. After doing that, you should try increasing the mutliplier in the BIOS to see how fast you can push it. After that, try increasing the voltage, and see if you can get even farther with the multiplier. You can also try raising the FSB once you get close to your CPU's limit.

As for the fuzzylogic, doesn't that just adjust the FSB, or am I mistaken?

don't you have to do somethinh with the L7 bridges to raise vol. on a DURON compared to a thunderbird you don't?

hi
i was wondering why my kt7pro2 didnt post with my duron 700 at 800 when its runing hot and i restart it but it seems that u also has the same prob. id like to know if any of u knows why my duron 700 dosnt run stable at 900 at 1.8v (bios 1.8) since ive seen ppl that claims to reach 1gh whith the same processor.
can u also tell me why does it always post at 700(default) but at 800 when the system processor is cold (below 35/36ºC) it posts but above that sometimes it does and other it doesnt! at 800 i have 1.6v and in w98se its rock stable the only problem is that it sometimes doesnt post nor 800 nor 808,816 etc but if it is cold it does!
my normal temp for the system when its hot is 39/40ºC cpu/system with a BIG heatsink/fan from Spire!
thanks anyway!!!

tjll11a,
The L7 bridges work the same for both the Duron and the TBird. For boards that allow for voltaage adjustments, you do no need to do anything with the L7 bridges. However, if your board does not have voltage adjustments, you can connect the L7 bridges to force the board to give it 1.85v.

Doug8521: You will get much better overclocking results by increasing your clock multiplier than you will be messing around with your frontside bus. I've got a Duron 700 running stable at 1083MHz so go for it. You'll find some good info at OCAddiction.
