just to help out a bit on the matter...
SACD requires a SACD capable player, most of the newer mid priced DVD players will play them...
DVD-A... many of the discs are multi format so you can play on a regular dvd player in either 5.1 or DTS, but to get the full benefit out of it you need a DVD player that is DVD Audio capable.. AND THEN on top of that.. you need a receiver/processor that has a 6 channel input not just the basic optical or coaxial cable...
Some players are dual format and will play both SACD and DVD-A, usually the higher end players... Denon, Sony, Pioneer & a few others.. my mind has gone blank as to all of them...
But if you are a true audio or videophile you will want to research a lot of the players... some may have dual capability (there is a pioneer that comes to mind that is $180, I almost bought it) but some may be lacking in the proceesing departmet... it may have good audio processing... but the video processing isn't that great.. or vice-versa
I am currently looking at the pioneer elite line which i think starts on e-bay for about 4-500 bucks... the denons are about 600 for the basic line player & then the there are the higher end line which are all at about a grand... rememebr.. you get what you pay for.... so if you just have the basic sound setup, to get the lower model pioneer is great... but if you are an audiophile... ya might want to save he money and get something a bit higher
I hope that might help describe what you need to get the most out of your SACD & your DVD-A
