DVD Burner recommendations

What's a good SATA DVD +-RW burner? Light scribe isn't a requirement.
I currently have a Lite-on LH-20A1L and it fails to burn more than I like.

Have you tried different media? Particularly Verbatim or Toyo Yuden? Sometimes, media makes a major difference.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware on the drive? I have both the Lite-on LH-20A1L and the LH-18A1L on my main computer. I had a problem with the lh-18 not reading DL media and some dvd's and was fixed by a firmware update. I wasn't having any problems with the lh-20 but I saw an updated driver and downloaded that too. You can go directly to liteons web site and download it. You don't need to download anything else the driver comes in an .exe package and self installs. Hope this solves your problem because these are great drives
