DVD Drive Inoperable After Update

I just finished building a brand new system and everything was going great till the LG updater updated one of my DVD drives and now only one works out of the 2. The second one that works also was updated but after rebooting works fine, the other will not even respond to trying to open the door.

It powers up on start up but just blinks till the OS boots into Windows then it quits.

Any ideas how I can get this unit working again.

Do you have a different system you could install it in, to see if it's the drive itself that's the problem?

sounds like a botched firmware update, you may want to try manually redoing the update, but it's probably bricked.

I tried manually but its no longer recognized in the system. No other system, all Macs.
