dvdshrink problem

well, I'm trying to use dvdshrink, but I get an error:

CDvdCSS:Read failed!
The reason is: Copy Protection Error - The read failed because the sector is encrypted.

Is there anything I can do about that?

Which dvd are you having trouble with? Try using DVDdecrypter to rip the disk to your hard drive and then use dvdshrink on the image to resize it.

I was trying "an Extremely Goofy Movie" Disney.
I just want to make a copy, is there an easier softawre to use? This is my first try.

DVDXcopy Xpress is probably the simplest software to use, but I don't belive there is a demo available for it.

i have this problem with the majority of the DVDs I try to backup.
Were you able to get Decryptor or DVDxCopy Xpress to work?

Does anyone else have any ideas for this?
Just going to DVDrhelp.com is kind of vague.. there is a ton of crap on that site.

Use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD then use DVDShrink to transcode it.

i have had that error before and found out it was the drive...did it just the other day....try inserting it into another dvd rom and see if it works

I tried dvdxcopy express, (trial version), and it seemed to copy my dvd, but when I put in the blank one, the start button never became available???

I am still having some difficulties.. I got DVD decryptor and tried ripping as an ISO and as an IFO... I first tried ISO but when I went into DVD shrink it would only look for IFO files... so I re-ripped in IFO format and now DVDshrink gives the following error:

The error is:

Failed to open file.

The reason is: The system can not find the file specified.

I am pointing DVDshrink to the file by selecting the open file button in shrink.

any ideas what else I can try?

I generally use DVD Decryptor and DVDShrink, but have found that some Disney videos are not copyable this way. It hasn't bugged me enough to find another method.

I'm listening for ideas. I can burn but won't be read on my home dvd player. For those using xcopy express, it wants a dvd/rw, not a dvd/r. If you put in a diff disc it will work.

try smart ripper to rip the whole content of the dvd and then use dvd shrink

just use DVDshrink then burn the DVD using software of your choice..

this should get rid of your decrypt problems.
