DVI to Analog Adapter

I only have a CRT monitor.

If I should get a video card that only has DVI connectors, would using the adapter cause any loss in quality over a video card with an actual 15pin connection?

I'm debating between some cards and wanted to know if this dual DVI thing would be a factor. And no, I don't plan to be getting a flatpanel anytime soon.

it should be just as good as if you use a direct 15-pin connection. because dvi is better than analog so you're just degrading the digital signal into analog which would be the same as if you started with analog.

Yeah, there shouldn't be any difference between a DVI to vga vs just vga.

There shouldn't be a difference because the DVI-I cables carry digital and analog signals on them. The digital one is used by an LCD as DVI-D, and the analog is DVI-A, but it's the same as a regular VGA signal, just has different connector. No moniters use a DVI-A connector that I know of so you don't really need to worry about that too much.
