We currently use Apollo Hosting for our mail and web services. Frankly, they're terrible, particularly their customer service (non-existent) and their overall reliability. I'm shopping around for a possible replacement, so I figured I'd ask AT if anyone had any recommendations.

We have about 90 POP3 mailboxes, along with our main website, through Apollo. Fortunately, we're not too terribly high-maintenance with our requirements, so flexibility is possible. Obviously we'd like to go with someone who actually cares about their customers, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

If anyone else uses mail/web hosting for their company and is actually happy with their service provider, please let me know. I use Namecheap for my personal domain registration and hosting, but wasn't sure of someone like that is good for a larger company or not.

Thank you...

great call in customer support OR superb online messaging support as well.

I'm surprised at how cheap and robust their packages are, especially compared to my current provider and a few others in this thread. According to them, I can get three-times the stuff I currently have for almost 1/3 of the cost (and cost isn't that pressing of an issue).

Can I really run my company's web site and e-mail for $9.95 a month???

Search WebHostingTalk.com for web hosts and more importantly reviews.

Remember you get what you pay for.

Do you really want to switch web hosts again in 3 months just because you saved $10/mo?

Hell no I don't. I'm just looking over our current hosting package and I see one offered by hostnine.com that's a much better package (on paper) at 1/3 the cost of what we pay.

Thank you for the link, RossMAN. I'll look it over tonight.

I would just be cautious before choosing a web host. Also I do not recommend prepaying for 1 year. A lot can happen in 1 year such as the web host going out of business, it gets sold to a new owner, repeated server issues, change of data center, frequent downtime, etc.

Everyone, thanks again for the feedback.

E-mail is by FAR the most important part of this decision. To be honest, our main web site isn't very big and really doesn't get used all that often...it's not something our company relies on for anything other than contact information and general company info.

The problem we've been having lately that's driving the decision to switch hosting providers is our e-mail has become somewhat unreliable. Unexplained outtages, e-mails being bounced, non-stop problems with authentication via Outlook, etc. It seems like I'm logging in to check the status of our mail server more often than not.

The vast majority of us use Outlook and POP3, some take advantage of the web mail, a few of us have BlackBerry's (which work, but it's a little more complicated than it should be at the moment), etc. Some calendar sharing. We have web mail, but it's the generic flavor (and possibly why some choose not to use it).

Yeah, he's very responsive. I've used it for a few years, though my "site" is really just a host for a few files and receives no traffic, but no problems.
