E6600 L706A486... is good?

I just received this serie processor, but i have to wait this weekend to put it on... i'd like to know how it is in overclock... if someone knows something....

Please use the search function in this forum, trust me you'll get the info you want by doing searched for words like "overclocking", "overclocked", "stable", "E6600", "FSB" etc.

There's a lot of existing information in here that will guide you to success.

This may seem as if I can't be bothered to write 3000 words however searching is really the best way of going about getting the type of answers you want.

I got a L706A499, seems to be a great chip. I only got it up to 3.2 but that was with default settings EIST,C1E etc... enabled. I still need to increase my voltage on my Geil DDR2 800 RAM as it is still at default 1.8. I Plan to make some adjustments this weekend.

Where did you buy it from?
I am putting together a new build and I have everything except a cpu and decent video card that's not too expensive. Choosing a video card is a nightmare.

A is good. I got an F from Fry's and returned it (unopened) and asked them get me an A or a B. The guy called the stock room and they pulled out an A. I haven't OCed it yet though.

I got it from newegg, at the beginning of the week the price dropped, got supreme comander free also.

I just built my first conroe system, and am using a e6600 (batch L709A435).

Right now, I'm at 3.2GHz, at 1.4V (set in BIOS), 6 hours Orthos stable. I just upped the voltage and set the FSB, so no idea what it would do at stock voltage.

I'll be going up higher tomorrow and next week to find the max.

Bad Axe 2 with the TR Ultra 120 (not extreme).

I'm now at 3.4GHZ with 1.42V, orthos stable for 3 hours now, going to let it run overnight.

OK, it's 13 hours orthos stable at the above settings.
