I'm sure its been asked before but I'm using a Scythe Ninja Rev B Plus with a high cfm silverstone fan plugged directly into a molex which should make it run at 12v

oc'd to 3.2ghz at auto volts I'm idling some where in the mid to high 40's right now i'm at 45/48 c1/c2

thats under idle

full load I usually top out at around 55-57

my ambient temp is 24 right now which is really low right now - I'm in LA and it really doesn't get too much lower usually its around 27-30c

I'm not sure if my 47c idle / 57c full load orthos temps are really high

I'm playing with case ventilation but I have plenty of air moving around

2 120mm fans for intake / 1 80mm intake fan and the front is mesh

3 120 mm fans for exhaust - 1 in back and one on back

comments please on CPU temps

my e6400 @ 3.2Ghz at 1.38v idles around 45, loads around 60 on a zalman 9500. I wouldnt have auto voltage set. The motherboards usually provide WAY more voltage then it needs. With auto set mine wanted 1.5v to do 3.2, but it is totally stable at 1.38v.

With midtower cases and no DIY ducting, you can have as many fans as you want to fit in there but you'll mix a lot of warmer air with fresher intake before it gets exhausted. That's why I see these higher temperatures that are common among you guys.

I ran another 2-hour ORTHOS test with CoreTemp logging a few hours ago at around 73F ambient -- AFTER I'd flipped my Ultra 120 Extreme around to get better ventilation for the fins on my VGA cooler. This degraded my load temperatures by at least 5 to 7C degrees, but they're still only around 52C peak and 44.7C average without any ducting.

My OC is modest -- I don't even like pumping up the VCORE to 1.46875V, but I have to do that in order to get up to 3.35 Ghz on my E6600. Still -- a 39% OC -- not too bad. And with memory latencies of 3,4,4,8. The BIOS voltage monitor shows a VCORE of 1.42V at idle, and it would be lower under load because of the droop.
