Ebay / Paypal question.

I sold my old cell phone on Ebay, it went for a little over 200 dollars. In my auction I specifically stated that if paying with paypal that they must have a confirmed address and I would only ship to the confirmed address. The Numbnuts who won my auction sends payment and does not have a confirmed address. So I sent the money back and told him he could either use a credit card to confirm his address or send money order. He send payment again this time its a confirmed address but he asks me to ship it to another address. Hes got all positive feedback but I don't want to get burned because I send to another address that way i'm not covered by Paypal's sellers protection. I stated in my auction that I would only ship to the confirmed address provided by paypal, should I go ahead and ship it to him?

Do not, I repeat, do not send to any other address other than the confirmed address. The guy may be legit. When I sold my camera on ebay the guy had a fair amount of positive feedback. He asked me if I would send it to another address. I firmly but kindly told him that I would not send it anywhere BUT his confirmed paypal address.

Again, I repeat, you're setting yourself up to be anal probed if you send to an address other than the confirmed address.

Numbnuts gets his money back and gets one more try at it. Otherwise offer it to the next highest bidder.

Tell him to use BidPay if he wants you to send it to some other address.

one thing that sucks about all that is if you don't sale it your out the ebay charges due to the fact that you recieved payment. I had the same issue not long ago with a bidder he wanted to pay with CC from an unconfirmed addy I told him to send money order or confirm his addy. He didn't want to do it for whatever reason and finally he just said forget it. I tried to get the charges refund when i had to relist but ebay said no because he had paid.

Ask him what's up with him wanting it to a different address and no matter what he says, ship to the confirmed address.

Either that, or just send it back AGAIN and tell him that he's an idiot... you know.. in a "don't leave me negative feedback" kind of way.



Edit: This also stinks of being some scammer that may have gotten a hold of someone's ebay/paypal passwords. All positives but doesn't jack about paypal? Yeah, right.

He said he's working on a Project. I'm guessing he lives on a university campus because of the address he gave me but its in the same state as his home, He lives in Arizona. I sent him a polite email stating if he wants me to ship to another address to send a money order otherwise I will go ahead and send it to his confirmed address provided by Paypal. He hasn't responded to my Email and I really want to ship this phone out today because the sooner the better but I want to give him a chance to make a decision.

If this guy doesnt respond to my Email and I ship it out to the confirmed address. Then after i've shipped he decides that he will send a Money Order for me to ship it to his alternative address. Can he dispute this with paypal and get a refund? If I ship to the confirmed address I'm covered with Paypals seller protection right?
