Looks like the V6 is for rental fleet only for some reason.

If I was getting a non-GT, I would go with the V6 over the 4 banger, but that's just me.
The v6 has 300hp 280lb tq vs 310hp and 320lb tq for the ecoboost. The ecoboost also makes that torque 1000 rpm earlier. Why anyone would choose the v6 over the ecoboost is mind boggling. Also the ecoboost uses forged internals so there is plenty of potential there.
Also forgot the ecoboost is getting better mpg too.

Congrats. I think Ford is making huge strides with Ecoboost tech, especially in their bread and butter F150.

Should also make pretty good gains with a tune and some bolt-ons (as most turbo cars do). I don't get why anyone would get the V6 either. I'd assume they will kill the V6 off in a year or two.

You need the GT or 350 for that.

The 2.3L 4 only has 310 HP, plus it's an automatic. :hmm:

Pretty sure neither of those cars are going to break their tires loose in 6th either lol.

Now 7th is a different story...

Traded in a fiesta st ecoboost for a 15 ecoboost mustang. I liked the fiesta st and have to say the mustang is better in every single way. The mustang has a much better ride quality and the motor makes tons more power and torque. The interior isn't even close either. Although I did spring for the premium ecoboost so comparing interiors of a semi loaded st vs a fully loaded mustang really isn't 100% fair.

Cool car. Now just needs an SVO wing.

Gay hairdressers love their little Accord coupes. And Nissan Cubes.

2.3l and 310 HP?
Just makes me sad I was paying extra on insurance for a under 100HP 2.5L daytona back in the 90's. LOL

Accord is FWD. If you are going to get an Accord get the 4 door one for practicality. You won't be fooling anyone into thinking that the Accord coupe is a sports or even a GT car. It's simply an impractical Accord for confused people.

You're reaching pretty far to suggest that a car has to be RWD to be fun to drive. If all else is exactly the same sure RWD is better but it is hardly the deciding factor.

There isn't a mustang I'd take over a new accord v6 coupe

Accord Coupe is just as fun to drive as an Accord Sedan, but less practical.
Which may be a lot of fun or not a lot of fun, that's subjective, but it's still just an FWD family sedan with two doors removed. You are giving up practicality and comfort for rear seat passengers, and getting what you think is appearance of sportiness, but in reality is not fooling anyone. Toyota was smart enough to ditch the Camry Coupe/Solara, it's missed by no one.
Mustang is a RWD ground up sports car. It's an entirely different animal.

My Mother in Law has the new accord v6. Its plenty powerful, but its far from a driver's car in feel. Haven't driven the new mustang, but the old v6 was far more engaging of a car than the accord is.

If you're just looking for moderately powerful transportation I can see cross shopping them. Like maybe the sort of people who might buy the v6 accord coupe.

i'm still up in the air about the new stang. I really like the fact they brought a boost 4 into the car, too bad you bought an auto....

I have only seen one in person, a 5.0 GT. In pics I think the side profile looks most awkward; too long of a front end compared to the occupant compartment, too short of a roof line, and awkwardly fat rear fenders.... oddly enough in person the only part of the car I had aversion to was the rear end. Most notably the lower half of the rear bumper.

I do like the color of yours and the interior looks good as well

Mustang fanboy spotted. The Accord V6 does a lot of things better than a Mustang. Quarter mile isn't the only metric that determines a car's value.

The first line is his personal choice, albeit contrary to what other people might think is correct.

Regarding the second, there are plenty of fun cars that aren't rwd. Aside from the obvious awd cars, there are tons of fwd hot hatches that are a blast to drive.

Regarding cross shopping, an accord v6 coupe starts at 30k msrp. The ecoboost mustang premium starts at over 29k. Both fit in well for someone who wants a sporty looking car with technical goodies without breaking the bank, getting something really impractical, or going used. I have no doubts it will be cross shopped.

Like what?

I doubt there is a meaningful performance benchmark that the accord v6 coupe beats the ecoboost mustang in. Both can be had with comparable equipment for around the same price. Heck the ecoboost mustang even has a V8 option available.

The accord is a great car for what it is. It isn't a sports coupe, and it doesn't matter how many doors you chop off... it'll always be a great family sedan.

I could absolutely see someone who is considering the accord coupe cross shopping a mustang. Because if you are trying to get a "sporty" car... you mise well go with one that was designed to be a sports/muscle/pony/etc... car. I can't see someone who is considering the mustang cross shopping it with an accord coupe as an alternative. Once you have said to yourself - "self, I don't need no stinking back doors or functional rear seats," it's a slippery slope. If you are going to give up a functional back seat (or at least make it a pain in the butt for anyone to get back there), why not get something that performs better than the super convenient daily driver sedan version.

Something like the Hyundai Genesis coupe is a direct competitor to something like the ecoboost mustang. No one thinking about buying one is going to get an accord v6 coupe instead.

Oh man I wish I could have like 50-100 less hp, the suspension from a family sedan, fwd, no limited slip, no brembos, etc... said no one ever...
