If I haven't paid 1Q08 estimated taxes, can I apply the rebate to that? (I'm sending my 2007 1040 this week, so I don't think my rebate check is coming anytime soon . . . )

Hmm--I just checked out Allisolm's link and it had this disclaimer about the rebate: "The estimated payment amount could be reduced, however, if you have an unpaid tax liability."

Yeah, if you've got a standing tax liability I don't think you really get a choice in the matter.

i wont get any. government thinks im too rich.

i say they should've sent these to the middle to upper middle class, those are the ones who would really spend them stimulus checks over those who make a lot less and barely making ends meet and is using that $600 to pay for rent or food.

the whole point of these is to stimulate the economy, it's not meant to be a concession or assistance. i'll risk calls for taking this to P&N but this is just another way of the current administration to appease the lower classes in an election year.

Aren't you supposed to receive a notification that shows if you qualify or not.I have not received anything and i'm with the people that last two digits are 34.I do not know if me filing on the 14 of april is the cause of the delay or not.

Just an FYI...if you did your return electronically and were not getting a refund, they will be sending you a check. I have no idea why it matters, but it does. My check is mailing out July 11th.

Received the letter this past Tuesday and it said to receive the paper check by June 6th.

Today is the 7th, no check yet.
