Ecs K7S5A Quesition

I have an k7s5a with a 950 duron and I'm getting constant restarts. I would be browsing the internet and all of a sudden, the monitor would turn black and the computer restarted automatically. My vcore voltage is at 1.63. Is that too low? I have an L&C Technology 300W power supply that came with the case. I know that it's not good but it is on the AMD Recommended list up to 1Gig durion. Is it the power supply or the mobo?

Ecs k7s5a w 950 duron...temps are 27 and 38. W2k, voodoo 3, very few peripherals.

The k7s5a is a pain in the ass. You either love 'em or hate 'em. I advise flashing your bios. The issues I have been exposed to regarding the same type of problem have generally been corrected this way. Course, the best way to correct the issue is get a new board. I have the k7s5a and bought it due to budget. Soon as I get the money, it's history.

Actually the L&C PS in question is only rated to a Duron 950 (exactly what you are running with), according to the AMD Duron Recommended PS list. I'd do as Dapunisher says and look into finding the actual cause of the trouble; not automatically blaming the MB as so many (MozartsGhost) are quick to do. It's funny how we never want to take the blame for something that might be our own doing. There could be a number of reasons you are having troubles so do a little troubleshooting and post back with your findings. Disabling the auto restart (as mentioned in that article) is one way to begin. From there maybe we can track down the problem.

i had random reboots also. switched to name-brand ram (i had generic ram before) and everything is fine.
