When women lose their right to vote, it's another story.
Did that happen? Nope.
Was it just about to happen? Nope.
Was Sharia Law about to be implemented? Nope.

I don't like the man, his Brotherhood or his policies, but unless the democracy is at risk, the military's actions are questionable at best. Again, just because your guy didn't win doesn't mean you can uproot the government and start over again. That's not how a democracy is supposed to work.

democracies have ways to throw bumbs out they don't have to wait 4 years - like we did nixon. Beyond that hey have checks and balances and when Mosri took the power to legislate without judicial oversight or review he broke democracy not military who is attempting to restore it. Does this sound democratic to you?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_Morsi#November_2012_declaration

Democracy is a slogan that encompasses much more, guaranteed liberties, rule of law, checks and balances. Doesn't mean once elected you can do whatever you want till end of term and rule like a king.

I have no idea about the situation let alone anything resembling political/historical understanding of current Egypt, so I can't pick a side. However, generally speaking, the shorter military control of governance the better. Hopefully there are enough principled military personnels who respect the rule of law and virtue of democracy.

How big is the MB faction? Will Egypt be a hotbed of terrorist action from the more extreme MB members?

So if the majority vote for banning gay marriage, curtail women's rights, etc. you accept it because that is how democracy is supposed to work

As for Morsi, he can speak for himself.

http://www.memri.org/clip/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/3476.htm

“The Koran is our constitution. The Prophet Muhammad is our leader. Jihad is our path. And death for the sake of Allah is our most lofty aspiration.” Then, Morsi proclaims “This nation will enjoy blessing and revival only through the Islamic sharia [law].” He adds: “I take an oath before Allah and before you all that regardless of the actual text [of the current Egyptian constitution], Allah willing, the text will truly reflect sharia law, as will be agreed upon by the Egyptian people, by the Islamic scholars, and by legal and constitutional experts. Rejoice and rest assured that these people will not accept a text that does not reflect the true meaning of the Islamic sharia as a text to be implemented and as a platform. The people will not agree to anything else.”
But then again there are people that still believe a fire has taken place after the house has burned down.

And people are surprised that the Middle East is the way it is. This is 1953 all over again (when a democratically elected Iranian government was overthrown. Look at what it lead to...

What will the people that support this coup do when another election is held and another conservative wins?

We had a civil war over the democracy of slavery - "democracy" doesnt mean what you think it does. Like Obama said - means respecting everyones wishes and liberties or else it not a democracy but ruling like a despot. Morsi broke democracy not the protesters or army trying to restore it

Do you think the US was involved in this overthrow as well, like the one in 53?

Ignore the results. Some people are starting to come to the obvious realization that Muslims can't effectively run governments. That's why every country with a Muslim theocracy is a total shit hole.

Oh ya..I was going to mention the next time you showed up
Did you see the thread about the Texas teen in jail for uttering threats online?
I was wondering if when you posted your death threats here against us if that was the same thing?
Especially when you made them when you were an active officer of the US military

And there's a reason that Calgary is referred to as Dodoma on the Bow by most Canadians.

I've never heard that before and my google shows no results
Is this another thing you picked up at Stormfront or JW?

Nope, didn't see it. Under Texas law threats need to be specific and consequential (as in they affect something important) in order to meet the definition of the law. Now that I've gone back and read the story of the kid, there should be no way he gets convicted. Looks like a prosecutor run amok and a grand jury full of nervous moms.

Yeah it's a Stormfront thing from the non-index boards, which is why you didn't find it on google.

Or I just made it up along the same lines as Austin, TX is referred to as Moscow on the Brazos. But that would require me to read about the mayor of Calgary to figure out where his ancestors are from so... Let's just stick with Stormfront, you seem pretty happy with that one.

I actually thought about quitting posting, because you threatened my family too
And of course the odds of some IT kook tracking me down and going through with it are far far far more likely and common, then a terrorist attack

His family is from Tanzania, that is right beside Uganda and Rwanda ( so you don't have to look it up.)
So no doubt he falls under your umbrella of undesirables

Yeah? Do you want our military doing the same thing to our elected leaders? I swear, the hypocrisy with some people on this board is astounding. And, after the Sept. 11 attacks, people here were wondering "why do they hate us?" This is why.

They reason "they" are hating us right now is because our State Department did everything they could to support President Morsi, who was then overthrown by a popular uprising. We are seen as supporters of Morsi and extremism by the people of Egypt right now. So this is kind of a special case.

However, I won't budge off our right as a superpower to meddle in lesser nation's internal affairs in the future.

You're an idiot. My comments weren't even directed at you. You must live in fear of generalizations every day, all day.

In case it wasn't implied by the fact that I named the capital of Tanzania previously, I was already aware of that. His election made international news and was considered a sign of changing demographics in Alberta.
