Haha, you're confusing the extremely old Doom with the released in the latter half of 2004 Doom 3. It was actually, IIRC, the first game to utilize dual-core processors. Well, maybe it was the first AAA title to use them. Hard to remember that far back, now! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_3

sure yeah but the multiplayer engine didn't run faster than 30fps, so neither did stuff you shot at. very ugly

Actually they are going to 28 nm, so this could change everything.
At least is way faster than the chinese Loongson
