This is one of those cases where it's super important to be technically correct... Or is it?
I think actually in this case it might be important.

I think thinking that people are capable of being informed And then pretending not to be means that the information is actually landing inside them as true. Because being informed implies you know the truth, That you see the truth and that you absorb it. A lot of those people don't absorb anything.

I don't think many of these people are capable of being informed though. The are missing something inside them. Reality doesn't exist inside them. This is why they are so dangerous.

Sure are there people who are informed but do pretend? Yes. You can pick a number of Republican politicians. And some of the base. But I think the majority of the base is incapable of being informed on any level.

I just find it a way to differentiate the different types of evil we are fighting against.

The Neuralink implants are already falling out of people’s brains.

If you can’t trust Elon to build a truck that won’t rust, or turn a profit on Twitter, why the hell would you let him put something in your brain?

Wait till the guy finds out what happens when he goes through a car wash

Considering the technology involved I would be surprised if everything went flawless with the first implant.
If they can work through the issues it would be a great tool for those with impaired limb function.

Eek. Wouldn't trust Elon anywhere near my cranium.

Yeah Elon does enough shitty things all by himself that to me any misrepresentation of things musk companies do just waters down the valid criticism.

It is interesting that the person that had issues but there was a workaround. Don't you think that CNN's headline was more accurate than some of the other click-bait headlines?

Neuralink’s first brain chip implant developed a problem — but there was a workaround
Temporary workaround, is there a guarantee that they wont retract further?
One a side note this tech is the future Elon or not. There is going to be two classes of people, those with an AI in their heads and those without. 200 IQ vs 100 IQ.

YOu simply cannot believe anything that comes out of the mouth of an Elon run company, except for SpaceX as that is run like a much tighter ship to protect against his insanity.

How can there be a guarantee their will not retract further when literally the implant is in initial human trials? It is like you are asking for a guarantee that a drug will work when it is in early phase clinical trials. How does that make any sense?

BYD does make some good cars. However all of these companies like BYD are going to find themselves shut out of the western world when China decides it is more important to make a move on Taiwan.

Alright. Is this a first ever for inserting electrodes into the human brain? No. So I dont bite on the "early clinical trials".
Anyway, my only line of thinking when I wrote that was "did it move or is it moving?". Perhaps guarantee is the wrong word as the only certainty in life is death and taxes.

"Hardware problems may include malfunction, erosion, migration, or fracture of the leads, or battery failure.2"

- I am thinking "maybe".

The Biden administration is looking to add a 100% tarrif on Chinese EVs. Saw that reported yesterday.

Edit: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/wh...se-tariffs-electric-vehicles-china-rcna151748

Will be interesting to see if Chinese companies start setting up shop in Mexico to avoid these tariffs. If BYD setup a factory in Mexico and entry level BEV's could be shipped into the US for around ~$15k(Avoiding Tarriff's) a lot of manufacturers that current sell auto's in the US would be in trouble. I am more waiting to see what tariff's they slap on battery imports from the US. A lot of residential battery storage systems use Chinese manufactured LFP batteries since the US doesn't really produce much in the way of LFP batteries. Already I know in CA, solar has taken a huge hit by NEM 3. In order to make the math work you have to install storage with solar. However if those storage systems start getting more expensive because of US tariff's on LFP batteries this is not going to end well for residential solar in CA.

can BYD's cars even pass FMVSS? i would think that is a huge barrier to entry from a cost/technology standpoint. if so, then yeah, at a 10k or 20k price point, that would absolutely decimate US BEV auto sales.

I wouldn't assume they couldn't pass FMVSS if BYD decided it wanted to. BYD sells cars in Europe. The question is how much passing FMVSS would increase the price point of their vehicles for entry into the US market. Would the US change the laws if BYD setup a factory in the Mexico to try and bypass those tariffs.

US has asked Mexico to keep the Chinese EV makers out of the free trade zones and they have complied.
