Hi guys,

I'll be getting a Enlight 7327 w/ 300W PSU for $100 (CANADIAN!)

Do any of you reconmend this case, or would i be better of getting a generic midtower ATX w/300 PSU for $70

?

Initionally, I'll be intalling an 80mm exhaust fan at the back...(and i assume the case comes with an 80mm fan for intake...correct?)

I'll also be purchasing a harddrive cooller to cool by IBM 45GB GXP...

TIA

My 7327 should be here tomorrow VIA UPS. I have shopped around for a while and think I made a good choice. Read some of the posts about cases, you can really pack the 7327 with fans for cooling.

Best Case I've ever owned. Best mid-tower case, IMO. I'm going to get a full-tower ASAP though. The enermax psu I have has the longest cables you've ever seen!

best mid-tower i've ever owned too. well, in all honesty, it's the first one i've owned that wasn't from an oem. but i've had it for over a year, and i love it. i plan on keeping it for a long time to come too, so i'm going to show my love for it and do a little modifying. it really is a great case - easy to get in and out of, it fits snugly together. i think anand recommends it in their value buyer's guides, and i think sharky does too.

it has a front intake 80mm, but the airflow is hindered a bit by the plastic mounting thing. if you have the ambition, you should drill some new mounting holes in the front and take the housing apparatus out of there.

Then Enlight 7327 is probably one of the best Mid-Towers around. I was going to buy 1, but I decided to get my In-Win Q500 Tower. I decided to get more space, but otherwise this is definately 1 great case and I highly recommend it. But for $100 that is way too much. I was going to buy mine with a 300w PSU for $60. I suggest you continue to find other retailers cause I am sure you can find it cheaper.

Another + for the 7237. I own two and love both. They aren't too big nor too small, but perfectly in the middle

UPS just delivered my 7327 today. My oppinion of the case???? Very good case. I paid a little over $60 (US) including shipping and a 300 W PS. It is definately worth the money. I like the fact that it comes with an 80mm fan in the front, and a "cut out" for one in the back. The FDD and HDD "rack" is removeable and clips in place. Removeable MOBO tray, and a sturdy case. Im definately impressed for $60+.

I have (2) and have used this case on (4) other systems I've built and have always been happy.

I consider this case the standard for any build.

the 7237 is one of the best midtowers on the market. it is nearly toolless (if you dont put the screws in the front and just put the front piece back on). it is easy to work in and fairly high quality. it has lots of expansion and space for a midtower.

the downside, its only a midtower. if you need the space of a full tower this wont do. this isnt the case's fault because it was designed to be a midtower.

this case is a save buy.

got mine for around 60$ US with 300W PS.

obviously I don't need to add praise to this case, so i'll skip that part;

I was doing some online research on this case, while i was in that market, and I read somewhere that there are two different versions out there. The older one is definitely inferior to the newer one, the differences involving, if I remember correctly: that the outtake fan grille in the back wasn't present on the older model; the LED's were attached to the removable bezel, so no LED's w/the case open; and there was something concerning side panel access that was bad with the older models... i seem to remember that the old one had a 3 piece design. ANYWAY, all that is, of course, not important if you make sure to get the newer model. IF i'm right about this, it's just something to watch out for -- you wouldn't want an online retailer to unload one of these older models on you; RMA's on cases are expensive! good luck

ps. yeah, a friend of mine ordered his from www.bunta.com and he definitely got the newer version.

The older 7237's use a one-piece outer shell, rather than the current 2 piece plus removeable front bezel design. It is very hard to find one of the older ones(I believe they stopped making them 18 months ago).

The 7237 is a very nice, low-cost case. I use one, but i will probably eventually upgrate to an Antec SX830/1030 line.

The relative build quality of an Enlight case isn't quite as good as the antec's/in-wins, but it isn't horrible by any means. it is easily moddable(which is very nice).

Out of the cheaper Mid-Towers, it has among the best stock coolng setups

Can't go wrong with that price range.

Easy to work with once you get familiar, but pay a little more attention on some sharp edge.

Here's another vote in favor of Enlight's 7327 case. I have one with a HEC 300Watt power supply. It's simply a great case for the money: well-built, no sharp edges and very easily modified. I've cut blowholes in the top and side of mine, swapped out LED's, drilled out intake vents, etc.

I have used many mid towers, including the both versions of the Enlight 7237 (the original 1-piece cover, and the new 2-piece side panel cover). For a low cost mid-tower case, I prefer the Inwin S500, because it doesn't use drive rails. The drive rails in the Enlight ATX causes many CD-ROMs to rattle unnecessarily. Also, the slot covers on the back are impossible to re-install once you take them off... very annoying.

Of course, if you had the dough, get the FS020, 6890A, or Genie, or the CoolMaster Aluminum case.

by slot covers i take it you mean those crappy little pieces of tin that cover the open pci slots. you can reinstall those rather easily. i do it all the time. maybe you're just not trying the right ways...

Yeah, the slot covers aren't that hard to be put back on.
just align it and snap on.......need a little pressure to do so.

As I said earlier, I've done quite a few mods to my 7327, so I'm in and out of it a lot. Before this case I had an Enlight 6880. (It's now used by the wife.)

I think drive rails are one of the greatest inventions since sliced bread. I'm always popping drives in and out of the case, swapping the CD-ROM in the wife's system for the one in mine, etc.; drive rails speed up the whole process. Further, I've never had a problem with CD-ROM's (or any other drives "rattling." Never had a problem putting a slot cover back on either.

Russ at Compucheap sells the 7237 with the Enermax power supplies. I will be using one of these for my DDR system I'm building in a couple of months . . . my SC750A is just TOO DAMN BIG.
