Epox 8k5a2+ and 2400+

Figured id post in here because it would get more views....

Heres the deal....I bought a 2400+ the other day, didnt know that it wasnt compatible with my mobo so i got the hardware malfunction error.....after a rough couple of days, i had to flash my BIOS through windows (with magicflash, it worked fine) so anyway it says that my board should support up to 2700+ with the latest BIOS....now i go to put the 2400+ back in and i boot up and it doesnt post....cant get to the BIOS or anything, tried clearing CMOS, that didnt work....so anyway it doesnt post......my monitor light just stays orange and doesnt go to the green light.....help?

Test your hardware. First and foremost, the motherboard. Switch components out into a working system one at a time and figure out which one's giving you trouble.

Also, you might wanna try reseating everything. Strip the system down to just video, RAM, and CPU, see if you can boot. Check your connections. Check your motherboard's manual's "Troubleshooting" section.

well im running the same system now......i just swap CPU's in and out....im running a 1.2ghz athlon right now and it runs fine....put in the 2400+, no post.....

Hm. Sounds like your CPU's dead then. You might wanna try it out in another system just to be sure. I'd RMA the sucker ASAP, IIWY. Processors are especially vulnerable to ESD, so keep that in mind when handling them. A grounding strap is a worthy investment.
