Epox 8K7A problem with Restart

I am having a problem with my 8K7A board.

It is Epox 8K7A
Athlon 1.0/266
256MB Crucial DDR
Win2K Professional SP2

When I shut down the computer, it powers off correctly. But when I press the power button to turn on, the board goes straight on to FF (no post-ing) and it does not boot, nothing on the screen. So basically when push power button to first turn it on, it will not go ON except straight to the "FF" display. If then I push the reset button, it goes through the POST and starts up normally.

Also when I do "Shut Down, Restart" from Win2K, the computer shuts down, and then when it restarts the screen stays blank and it never comes on.

Can someone please help me with this problem. I am building this computer for my parents and I need to give it to them on Sunday at noon.

There are a couple of threads in this forum about this. If you have a certain Netgear NIC or one that uses the same chipset, it is a known problem with no fix as of yet. Check out this
thread..

OK. I took out the Netgear FA311 card, and put in a Linksys LNE100TX.

The problem is fixed!
