Hi,

could you tell me why keyboard and mouse still have power when my system is off??
Can I disable this in BIOS? I don't want my optical mouse to light all the time.

Best Regards
Wojtek

It stays on because there is power going to the board on shutdown with ATX motherboards. It is part of the specification for ATX.

Yes, but with my old Biostar motherboard (and previous one; both ATX) my PS2 mouse and PS2 keyboard were OFF.
So this behavior is specific to this EPoX motherboard and I don't like this. When computer is OFF it must be OFF !

In your BIOS, I think it's in the Advanced Chipset section, look for something about methods to turn the PC on; don't remember what it's called exactly, but it will have an option "BUTTON-ONLY" - try using that. It might be giving the keyboard power if the KB_Poweron option is selected, so that it can actually detect a key being pressed, and power the system on.

I allready set this to BUTTON-ONLY. Could it be that my motherboard is faulty?

I know if I use my USB optical mouse with a PS/2 adaptor, it stay's lit when my comp is shut off. Plugged into the USB slot my mouse is off when my comp is shut down. I'll have to see if my PS/2 keyboard stay's lit (but I think it does) and I have the power control on/off by button only in bios.
