EPOX EP-8K7A + SBLive

Does anyone have the EPOX EP-8K7A + a SBLive? Do you get the infamous via + sblive conflict? Also, does this board use the normal via 4 in 1 drivers, or does it use a different set because the northbridge is AMD?

I don't have the mobo, but the live-686B southbridge conflict is resolved in the latest 4in1-4.31. You should not use all of the drivers in the 4 in 1, instead you should install the AMD agp miniport that comes on the cd

I believe EPOX also has a BIOS update to fix the SB Live issue.

There is no updated bios for the 8K7A on their website. At least that I could find. I just installed the 686B patch from via hardware and the agp mini-driver off of the cd and everything works great.

So I install 3 of the drivers from via and 1 off the epox cd?

Im not sure exactly the driver names of the parts of via's 4 in 1's. COuld someone break up which ones I need to get from Via and which from EPOX?

4in1 installation guide I think the only one you shouldn't install is the via agp driver. The irq driver is only necessary for W98 (I don't use it though and I'm running fine on an old KX133 mobo+w98se). You get to choose which of the 4in1's you want to install, but if you want to you can always dl the drivers separately.

I bet they incorporated the fix into the BIOS before they released the motherboard. They release BIOS updates every couple weeks, and when I buy a new board, it is sometimes current, but never more than 1 release old.

Isn't this the DDR version of the board? I don't think the 760 chipset has a problem with the 686b.
