yesterday after i almost spend an hour to finalize the deal after waiting/talking with CSR of staples.
i first check the stock, so smooth, no waiting at all. as soon as i mention about the pricewatch, he gave me a ten minute mute time. when he comes back, he said i have to match for the next day air shipping, which is 18.95. I insist on talking to his supervisor, he gave me another 10 minute wait and finally change his words to " i can't find one of the software on buy.com. i said why don't you let me talk to your supervisor, cus at least she can check the manufacture number.

another 10 minutes mute, here comes the supervisor. sounds a little more friendly, point out one software is missing and she has to call manufacture to find out the manufacture number. luckily, manufacture is on my side.

so 105+tax, my first successful PM on staples. haha.

I'm not sure I understand why anyone would prefer to call rather than match online for something like this. All the information is right there on the web page -- you send the URL in the chat window and it's taken care of in a couple of minutes. See the details of how to do it in the "How Do I" thead. If the Live Support link is not active, just do the match by email. Why waste so much time arguing with CSRs?

The only time I call for price matches is with a brick and mortar store when the competitor's stock is low.

I finally got Staples to PM via the Live Support Link. A minor "dislike" that he had to add $5 shipping charge despite BuyCom offers free ship for >$100. I think he did far better that the previous four CSR. I ordered it at $110 + tax.

I second (or third or fourth) use of Staples.com Live Chat. Pricematching was a breeze (albeit a little slow). It looks like they (Ingram) are backordered so they are only charging ground shipping which Buy.com has as $0. I got the scanner, a halogen lamp, and some tape for $125 shipped, including tax. Great deal! Now if only my 6400s would come...

There is a coupon code out there that is $25 off $100 plus free overnight shipping at Staples. I dont get it. Called placed order and they still charged shipping with eta july 7,even though I told them buy.com has free ground shipping. Ended up paying $117 after $25 off $124.99 plus tax plus shipping

As I stated previously, SCREW STAPLES, you don't save anything after they tack on tax and overnight shipping, it's a lot of work and sitting on hold, and if you ever get anything out of them you have to EARN it. They are always "out of stock" or some other bullsh*t, or they kick out your order without telling you, so you don't get anything. They can be very cute about burning you.

i called on Tuesday to order this after reading about it here. when i talked to the csr, everything seemed fine, however he couldn't find the scanner in the system at first. after checking for a little bit, he told me that there were like over 700 units in stock. i was like great, so i ask to order one in which he tells me to hold for a moment. he comes back after a minute and tells me that since this is from another location (Ingram Micro) at it's located in the west coast, in CANNOT be shipped over to the west coast. i told him "are you serious? no shipping here?" to which he pretty much said "yea, sorry".

after reading how soo many different people from around the country got it on this, i just called right back on got on the phone with a really nice and lovely CSR, who told me that this was in stock (over 700 units) and would definitely ship to anywhere in the US. I then asked to do a pricematch, which she was very helpful in assisting to a first-time pricematcher and even accepted a $20 off coupon for me as well. she just went to go to the buy.com website and told me that there was free shipping on this as well.

so i guess the point of this story is that if you don't get a CSR who deals nicely or doesn't give you the result that you would like, just call back. something i always do is ask them where they are located, so that when i call back again, i see that i am not asking the original person's co-worker. it works everytime, so if someone is from Oklahoma, and the next CSR i get is from Texas, it works out great!
