Epson scanners w/slides

Anyone have the 1650 or 2450 scanner and try scanning slides? I've got the 1250 with the transparency adapter and it scans slides like cr@p.

The 1250 has a dmax of 3.0, the 1650 its 3.2, and the 2450 is 3.3. A dmax of 3.2 or higher is highly recommended but it would be interesting to know if these others are still useless for slides.

I've got the 1240 and it actually does a decent job. Depends on what your needs are though. I scan for us in powerpoint and it works fine. I don't think you'll ever get great quality slide scan from a flat bed scanner though.

The 1250 scans photos ok but is always light.

The slides are almost always dark and a very poor resolution, even when scanned at high res. I'd love to know if the 1650 does a better job on slides. I can't spend 4-500 on a photo scanner right now, like the hp20s.
