Just saw they were rioting in Bellevue, WA. So anything is possible now.
Curfew officially started in Seattle which means nothing so the tear gas is flying again.

So far, all the crazies seemed to have gone out to Bellevue and a really civilized protest is going on in Seattle tonight. It's kind of a cat and mouse game, there are a couple "leaders" keeping people cool, but they are still violating curfew. I was surprised after they chased the crowd up to the Capital Hill district, they've let them reassemble in Westlake Park where all the looting and vandalism happened. It's almost as if the good protesters have pushed the issued that they can successfully protest, and yes confronting the police without destroying anything. No windows have been broken tonight. Chill.
Supposedly, the Bellevue police had intelligence that the Seattle gangs planned to use a legitimate protest as cover. They still did not do anything at least obviously to stop the looting. They said they hit in several places and were overwelmed.

OK, now let me ask you (or ANYONE reading this!) because I don't know... Did that truck hit, injure, kill, anyone? Yes, I want to know. If not, then the driver did NOT "plow into" the protestors. Yes, the mofo was driving WAY TOO FAST, way reckless and should be prosecuted! Did stop when made to think if he didn't he was gonna hurt someone. So, what is it? Seemed to me in watching that video a few times that "plowed into" is a "slimeball" way to characterize it. And it's true that reporting of vehicular accidents is typically biased in favor of the American obsession with the automobile.

I so hope people connect the dots over the last 3 years and realize this is indeed the America that Donald Trump wanted and has created. Pandemic, living paycheck to paycheck, protesting in the streets. Oh sure, one could say none of this was Donald Trump’s fault, but actually it is. It is Donald Trump’s fault, all of it, because this is what America deserves when we are divided and forced into division by this president who lives for division.
And THANK GOD for and THANK YOU to black people for having the patriotism to stand up. Think of it.... black people all across America are doing what white people SHOULD HAVE DONE decades ago.

I have said it before, and you are saying it here (sorta), but I want to emphasize... IMO, America is singular in the world in that it's a melting pot. I don't think there's another country that can touch us for that aspect. Maybe not today in some ways, because the trumpster (dumpster) is throwing gasoline on the fire that is the indignation that many Americans are susceptible to feeling about immigrants. I suppose even "native Americans" weren't indigenous here and wandered over what was it? The Berring Straits?

Look, the difference between black Americans and most of the others is that they were enslaved and dragged here and subjugated, beaten, raped, exploited... they weren't even 2nd class citizens. They had close to no "rights." That's how it was when they got here. A super bloody civil war was fought over it. The north won, the "Emancipation Proclamation" happened. Right now, IMO, black Americans are America's best, most indispensable Americans!

You could take any ethnicity, racial category, religious community, etc. away from America and it would still be America, barely diminished... except for one, and that's "black Americans." It wouldn't be the same. America wouldn't be America without its blacks. It would be fundamentally anemic. The struggle of blacks for equal treatment in America is what this is about and is crucial in saving her soul.

It's actually the classic way the news discusses motor vehicle collisions. Wording like the use of passive voice (the pedestrian was struck), blaming the vehicle instead of the operator, calling collisions "accidents", and the general downplaying of negligence leading to death normalizes vehicular violence. That truck driver was an idiot and should probably be charged with attempted murder.

Seems to me the intent was to plow into people or scare them enough to believe that was the intent. They weren't just trying to make their way through, they were intentionally trying to instill fear into those people. So if there's any slime to be found I'd start with the truck driver.

What do these men have in common besides being white and using an assault weapon to commit murder? They were walked out peacefully to the waiting squad car.

Now, let's look at Floyd. He had a fake $20 bill. He was resisting arrest, but he had no weapon. He didn't kill people. Yet, he was held down for close to 9 minutes. ZERO consideration for his well being. With a knee in the neck. And when he died they gave ZERO f*ks. Just another day at the office. No wonder both African American men and women are outraged.
