error code 8192 and 7

ok I'm installing windows xp professional on my new comp. I'm using a WD 120 gb sata drive. So when I start installing xp, the message comes up to hit f6 and so I do but windows continues doing its normal stuff and starts installing. Then I get error messages ranging from error code 8192 to error code 7 and sometimes it says the file setupdd.sys is corrupted. The last error i got was, file\i386\l_intl.nls could not be loaded, error code 8192. I've been trying to get this working for 2 days and Im going insane here so any help would be nice. Thanks.
My comp is:
AMD Athlon 64 4000+
Asus A8V deluxe
WD 120gb SATA
2x512 pc2700 ddr ram
radeon 9600xt 256 mb ram

sounds like ur disk is scratched or currupt, try to get a new disk from microsoft

ok, i will try doing that but is there any way to tell if it is corrupted or not? I guess thats why you shouldn't buy oem versions of it.

Do you have to install SATA drivers for that motherboard if you are not setting up RAID? I am wondering why you are pressing F6!

There should be nothing wrong with OEM that would cause that. The negative side to OEM is that you cannot sell it and you cannot remove it from one machine and install on another. At least, officially. But, nothing wrong with the quality of the OEM CD.

Do you see any scratches on the CD?

Can you copy the content of the CD to your hard drive without seeing any errors?

yes. sata is treated as a scsi device, which requires drivers to run it. As a rule, always install all the drivers for this deep level stuff since you never know when you'll need it in the future, and some of them can require a windows reinstall to correctly run.

I have P4P800 deluxe from ASUS. I have XP on a SATA on this motherboard (not RAID). I have never needed to install any drivers for the SATA to work.

I know that I would need to press f6 and install drivers if I wanted to set up RAID. I know this because I have read about it in the manual.

I just thought that the motherboard that the original poster has may also offer this capability.

I'd have to agree with others, sounds like a corrupted install cd rom. When in doubt, install drivers, if you get new ones from the mobo site, they will be more upto date than what windows has natively, but using the native windows ones if they work is usually fine I'd agree. But besides the point in this case.
