Recently installed a new Mobo (Gigabyte K7 N400L1) (Nvidia chipset) and a XP 2400+ CPU and 512mb of 3200 DDR400. Fresh install of WinXP Pro on a new 120mb WD 8mb buff Drive. Loaded Battlefield 1942 AND Rainbow Six (3), both games instaled fine, but when I went to play the games (with CD in drive) they both said "put in correct CD and try again". The correct, original CD was in the drive. I tried this on both my memorex CD-R and my Burner. Neither game would play. Games were installed using the memorex CD-R, it runs fine, other CD's play fine. No errors in device manager, drives installed OK. Tried chaning settings with auotrun, ect.
Looked for some issues with this on gaming boards but couldnt find anything. Tried changing CD-R's and it did the same thing. Loaded Battlefield on another XP machine and it played fine with CD in, so it's not a bad CD.
Fresh install of WIn XP, so it leads me to believe I am missing an updated driver or something for this new game?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
