I have two lengths of ethernet pulled from a working install. I needed to splice them together with one of those crimp down boxes (ie strip one side of each length and punch them down into like a break out box) so that it'll be long enough.
It doesn't work. Why? There is continuity, resistance is a 2.x ohms and no shorts. The length is only about 100 (no where near the 295ft mark)
It lights up the lights on my hub and NIC, but the network refuses to work (tested by trying to log into my Sympatico HSE service)
Any help would be appreciated.
