Also, I figured with all the expensive LP items i saw, for rep fleet at least, that i'd save for those, maybe get a firetail or rep fleet stabber to sell on the market or use. You're basically saying as far as you're concerned LP = isk? How much are the +3 implants on the market that you're seeing?

The best I've found to sell have been faction ammo. However it is very easy to do your own research. Look in your region compare prices and see how much isk it is on the market compared to the isk + LP it is from the LP store. If you want to look more universally check out Eve-central.com to find out if there are regions close to you with better ratios for LP store products.

Just take ( market_isk - LPstore_isk )/ LP_store_Points . and you have your isk/LP ratio. If it is below 800'ish isk per LP look to sell something else from the LP store.

One thing I would recommend, look at market trade volume before you decide to plunge all our LP down one path. I was fortunate in that the faction ammo with a great isk/LP ratio also has a great market volume. Just as a note I actually sell that ammo in a region adjacent to where I mission it is 200 more isk /LP and is only 1 jump away.

I honestly didnt think my skill recommendations for the Vexor were that harsh - I mean the gun support skills to 2 probably takes what like a couple hours each?

Yeah ive been around the game for a while and my own personal standards are very stringent - I didnt even step into my first Apoc until I had Amarr Battleship V and the ability to use Tech 2 large lasers, which is just a brutal amount of training time. 3's for a lot of those skills is setting the bar pretty low - the last thing I want you to do is climb into a Cruiser too soon like I did and get blown up on a level 2 mission by a "boss" type NPC that warp scrambles you (hey how was I supposed to know the Omen was a piece of crap?).

And have you seen how they plan to change new characters next expansion? You start with 50k skillpoints instead of 800k, but your training speed is doubled until you hit 1.6mil.

Your recommendations for a Vexor seem about right to me. I didn't really start using my Arbi until I was about there. I totally agree with you on the BS point as well. I didn't jump into a BC until I could fly it fully T2, and I'm still training BS skills without having stepped into an actual ship. I just don't see the point in rolling around in a ship that you can't fly properly.

There is nothing I like to see more than a 2-3 month old character in a BS come into our low sec. We solo them in cruisers or AF as they're never fit properly.

For PVE, you can get away with it as you can usually just warp in and out of the mission. For PVP, it is better to fly a smaller ship you can fly well than a bigger ship you cannot.

I didn't think the requirements you posted were harsh, just that impatience > skill points to most players
I'm itching to fly a battleship, but I'll probably stick with battlecruisers for quite a while, maybe try a few different ones out. Only flown the Cyclone and Myrmidon so far. Anyone have a favorite battlecruiser they want to share stories of or builds for?

How many skill points do you have now? In Drones/In Gunnery?

I would definitely recommend making an eve-sheets account.

www.eve-sheet.com to make an account

*edit: NM about drone comment, misread what you could use.

Ooh, that site looks handy. I'll have to register tonight.

Ive played Eve for about 3 years and I can say in the end EVE is a jagoff academy the developers let us the players make our own universe and since any kind of scam is ok in Eve is is full of the worst huminity has to offer

I had 70+ million sp the game became a job you weither your grinding rats in 0.0 or grinding lvl 4 missions in empire its all to support your pvp . Your corp can get infaltrated all the stuff can be stolen ....Its all part of the game . Its international true which means to hold space you have to defend against all time zones (If your alliance is unsucessful then those lvl 4 missions will sadly become your income) Or you just jump to another corp in a more sucessful alliance

I could fly almost every ship in eve and I needed to as the nerf/buff wagon makes certain races ships and tactics obsolete I started out Caldari but I flew everything I rarely flew Caldari ships .

The bad thing about eve is now I cant really get into most mmo's as I get suspicous as hell about everything because to be sucessful in eve you trust few people . everyone lies (esp your own Alliance ) keeping the pos's up and running and being a director is a hassle and in the end its a job

At first though its brillant

This is basically what turned me from a PvE mission running care bear into a PvP maniac.
Spent a few weekends grinding 4's, outfitted my brand new Abaddon in the best T1 named possible (which pretty much cost more than the ship, and the 'Baddon is not cheap) and then decided it would be cool to rat in .4 for sec status.

A single T1 cruiser with T2 fit/drones solo'd me. Asked for ransom. I told him to go fuck himself, and was so busy typing I got podded to boot losing a full set of +5's.

Took a three month break, but kept skilling with very specific ideals in mind. I now run two alt accounts I use to bait people like you in low-sec and I show up on my main and oblierate them without even needing to look at the two alts. When I started I had to use them to e-war. Now they're just garbage fitted and insured and I don't even pay attention to them to see if they die or not, my main slaughters pirates in groups up to three.

I'd contemplate linking the Killboard to this one, but I know better. Needless to say I got bored one day and went on a null-sec rampage, running through Curse in a Apoc. I killed 2.6 billion worth of ships + mods solo before a big enough BS gang showed up to finish me off.

And I'm specced primarily Matari.

awesome, sounds like you had your revenge, lol

how do you handle the faster ships, like those T1 cruisers and AF, in your battleship?

Try to get 'em before they're inside your fallout (if you can hit 'em at all), use your drones, or you quite simply don't. That's one of the nice things (IMHO) about EVE. Even small ships remain useful against large ships by some measure.

That's not bad either. Just keep in mind you're going to be eating a lot of cap to put a lot of effort into killing some small ships. It's really situational.

The majority of PvP setups use at least one or two of those components, if not all three.

Also, if you're already in range to web the target, it's unlikely you need mwd at that point. mwd is used to get within that range before they have a chance to warp/jump away.

The simple truth is, a BS fitted to take out smaller ships is going to be ill suited to fighting other BSes. There is no one fitting for any ship in Eve that's a do-it-all type setup. It's a very complicated arrangement of rock-paper-scissors, with a few rail guns, missiles, and drones tossed into the mix.

Eh, Domis can hold their own against most ship types, thanks to being able to carry multiple flights of different drone types, plus high slot mods. Sure it's not a master key, but it handles itself a bit better than most BS's

Frigate tournament, nothing T2, no rigs. Any suggestions for a ship/fit? It's this Sunday
I have a rifter with 3 200mm, nos, mwd, web, ecm and overdrive injector/gyro in lows

Also a slasher with rocket launcher, 2 x 200mm, ab, tracking cpu w/optimal range, overdrive injector...thinking this one might not do so well...

Who gave you a character, or did you buy one?

Oh and the hurricane is a great BC.

We occasionally have "Frigate Thunderdome" when we're bored because Kenny won't fight, and I think the last one was won by a Kestrel fitted with an AB of all things

Im a fan of the Drake simply because of how strong the tank can be compared to the other BCs. Also like the Hurricane as a gank ship. Really been tempted to try making a "brick" prophecy, but the range on medium lasers without a big ship bonus is kinda underwhelming.
