Its not that I consider it blasphemy. In fact, this is exactly how I make most of my isk in the game. So I know exactly the risks involved and gank rates involved in high-sec. My point was the reason the gank rates are the way they are is due to the ammount of isk being carried by the person and how much firepower it would take to bring it down. The reason why freighters are expensive (asside from material costs) is because they have a hell of a tank on them, so much so that the costs to blow one up in high sec is extremely high.

A mammoth can carry about 30k m^3 (more if using containers), but has next to no tank if you configure it that way. A single T1 BS fit to kill that mammoth in 1 shot can easily be made and cost the player only 70-80m isk. A mammoth full of faction ammor and/or probes and/or T2 drones can easily, easily carry billions of isk worth of gear, and be able to move it 10 times faster than a freighter can. You don't see people doing that because of how easy it is to blow those ships up. But as I said, if you do add that "no-pvp" flag, you will see tons of people doing that.

And yes, there are tons of people who sit in jita and cargo scan industrial ships as they leave Jita 4-4, or as then leave from the Jita system (people sitting on the Perimiter<->Jita gate all day long scanning ships). They relay the information to people sitting on the other side of gates in some of the lower sec high-sec systems, like the 0.5 system between Jita and Amarr or the 0.5 between Jita and Dodixie, for the gank fit ships to be on a lookout for a badger II piloted by IdiotsRUs and to blow it up if they see it because he has 220m isk worth of gear in it (with a rough 1/2 loss due to blowing it up, that is still a 20-30m profit after the loss of the BS).

Fair enough. Two additional points though.

First, flagging would only be used in high sec (arbitrarily I chose 0.5 and higher, but it could as easily be .8 or .9). People who are transporting good from high sec to low sec would still be in danger of gate ganks, flag or no flag.

Second, people who transporting stuff worth billions of isk aren't driving around mammaths ignorant to the danger. They are either using better methods or have an escort. You don't get to to that level of personal wealth without knowing what you're doing.

In any case, my original post was a response to hulkageddon, not to day to day gameplay. I normally don't have to worry about groups of assassins sweeping into high sec just to pop my hulk, yet soon they will be doing that for no other reason than reward money and the good feeling in knowing they just ganked someone who couldn't defend themselves against a much greater force. I just feel really discouraged because I should be in relative safety within 0.9 and 1.0 space regardless of what craziness pvp corps are coming up with lol. I've mellowed on the whole flagging thing.

Still bored all the time, 20m SP pilot

working on building ISK on 4s and large hybrid turret 5

You can join our corp if you want. I should be recruiting for it anyway. We can be very active, but I know that lately I haven't been very active for personal reasons. However, there are a lot of others in the corp from Anandtech and they will be able to tell you more about how things are going lately. I did hop on last night and put together a 13 man fleet with 3 logis, a couple recons, and ECM in about 5 minutes, so I know we at least have the people on to form proper fleets. I don't know how common that is though, since it was the first time I had logged on this week. I am having trouble at home so I am not sure when I will get back to running regular fleets again, but there are plenty of others who should be able to do so.

our numbers are rising. Plus we have those tards in Ami to deal with along with pulsar nebula dudes. Lots of pewpew if you want it. Our space is the choicest plot of low sec space you could own.

Low sec? Own? I dunno, I think the Minnie/Amarr FW space is some pretty solid low sec. 4 jumps from Rens, includes Amamake, 5 jumps to Provi (which is actually fairly boring now ).

Yup own. Not in a sov sense with boosts and stuff. Of course not. But the systems are easily defend able and we "own" the eve gate. That always attracts nuubish plus we have a huge chunk of dead end systems. The mechanics that govern how the cosmic signatures come about insure we have lots of that stuff going on as well.

That's like the Tics saying they own Amamake because they can sit on the Oso gate with a bunch of Lachs/Nano ships. Pirates have a funny way of looking at things.

come take it then

I honestly could not care less about what system you claim to own. In my experience, pirates have an overinflated view of their importance/dominance. The corp I belong to, a fairly good (obviously teh bestest) FW corp, does just fine where we are .. no reason to head out elsewhere.

Wait, did u just say that I have overinflated view of my importance and in the next sentance say you belong to the best fw Corp? Haha.

Show me on the killboards where the bad pirates touched you.

I just lost my gank Mega because I DCed at the beginning of the fight, and by the time I was able to log back on it was already into half armor. Half Structure by the time I was able to rejoin fleet and broadcast for reps. Oh well, such is life.

As for which space is better, it is really a matter of opinion. I love Amamake, and used to roam down there often. But I like my space as well, and it has a good combination of PvP and PvE opportunities. Amamake is really the better area for PvP, but the PvE opportunities aren't quite what they are around Antem. But Antem has enough PvP activity to keep me occupied and happy on most nights.

I didn't mean to insult your e-peen, but I've already posted a KM in this thread with 3 members from my corp on it, check the KB for yourself. Last I checked the corp is somewhere in the top 175 on BC, which is near 600 spots higher than Diplomatic Disruption. If you want to compare further stats, feel free, didn't mean to get you so riled up, but like I said; pirates are a bit touchy for whatever reason.

You didnt. I dont have a e-peen. You don't know what you are talking about when it comes to owning a low sec area. It's more then camping the out gate. This doesnt insult my e-peen it just shows me you dont know what you are talking about. You clearly have been jumped by pirates in the past though as you seem fairly aggro right now. Relax - its just a game

As for your killboard please feel free to post it as I missed it.

Of course I've been ganked by pirates at a gate camp, who hasn't? I live next to Amamake, I know exactly what it's like when pirates claim to own a system. I also know what its like to warp a fleet to a pirate camped gate and have them warp off because "they didn't have the right ships." You are right, though, it is more than camping the high-sec gate, it's also about camping stations, and in the case of Amamake; nano fleets in top belt. Typical epeen pirate, though, trying to spin things. You started off with some chest pounding, too, pretty typical. It's ok, you REALLY are important, I swear.

IFW's stats at BC.

What are you talking about? What started out as a corp discussion has now become a discussion about your ALLIANCE? Sure, if you want to compare your ALLIANCE to my FW CORP to make yourself feel better, feel free. What are you talking about frigates? I've posted our KB, it's hardly like we frequently fly nothing but frigates. Are you just delusional, or do you really think you're making sense?

look we are ranked #57 That moar betta then joo.

Hell we dont even post to battleclinic. lulz.

Neither do we, but I figured BC would probably be the most "fair" comparison. Also, how did we get from talking about corp v corp to corp v alliance? No shit your alliance out logistics my 25 man corp. Well, at least my CORP does have 77% as many kills are your ALLIANCE. Are you out of your mind? Keep on trolling.

hahahah. I knew you would respond like that. You dont understand the mechanics surrounding diversified command structures. Learn the game then come back and talk shit. Or just come and play

That's the best you got? The argument was originally how sad my corp is compared to yours, which, when proven wrong, you went with how sad my single, 25 man corp, is compared to your 9 corp alliance.. When it turns out your alliance only has 23% more kills than my corp, you go with "oh duh, you just don't understand the game at all, llolololloll we are teh awesome." I've been playing the game for years, I've done my team in 0.0 alliances, I know an idiot talking out of his ass when I see one. Honestly, I feel bad for the guys in your corp that post here that AREN'T completely delusional like you must be. But hey, let's keep the troll rolling, please give us noobs a quick run down of the "mechanics surrounding diversified command structures." Must be super complicated stuff. Or are you going to now say that your corp doesn't have the stats because you're primarily the logistics for your alliance, and then that somehow still makes comparing your ALLIANCE to my CORP legitimate.

please you showed up with the shitty attitude. Your corp stats has been tracked since the beginning of 2007. Ours has been tracked since 2008. You brought up that your "rank" was 200 or whatever. Our rank is 57. I didnt say you corp was sad you must of felt it was sad and needed to defend it. You came in talking shit about the claim of ownership in low sec acting like a premedonna. Anyways I accept your apology.

Diversified command structures (multiple corps) lower the chances of being scammed by any 1 individual.

My attitude? What started this was you claiming to "own" non-ownable space. Then you said it's because you pirates are awesome, that you "own" it. I simply said that's just like the Tics claiming to "own" Amamake. To which you got aggressive and told me "come take it then." Sure sounds like your attitude started it.

Wrong here again. My corp started out as a high sec PVE/mining corp, it didn't get into PvP until later - so your years are quite off. Also, my CORP is 173, your CORP is something like 658. Your ALLIANCE is 57. Are you not able to differentiate a CORP and a 9 CORP ALLIANCE? Perhaps you do not understand the "mechanics surrounding diversified command structures."
