And EVE has been back up tonight I created a new trial character to play with to see if I want to reactivate old accounts. So far so good...

Yeah, I am back to mission running again (although I havn't actually done any yet). We moved out of wormhole space because we just have been pretty hit and miss with real life timing for running sites (and since we need 3+ characters to run sites, it was difficult when only 1 person was on). I havn't had a chance to run missions yet, but will give it a try again. I am not so certain I will be joining the rest of my corp since they want to run L4 missions in low sec/null sec and I really don't want to deal with that especially with tengus. I might not mind with a drake, but it would take forever with a drake to do the missions, and at that point, I would be better off solo in a C2 or C3.

So I am debating what I will do now. I never really made that much while mission running, but then again, I had only just made it up to the L4 quality 20 agents before I moved out to W-Space.

Man, it seems that lately I have just been waiting for skills to train and not really been playing.... This weekend should be good since I finally finish medium lasers V on one of my characters (already have T2 small pulse to IV). Then I can have him finish up large projectile guns V, and get cruise missiles to V (so I can use the minmitar dread).

So what Eve issues do you all expect today, and how many patches do you think we will see in the next few?

Me personally I think there will be daily patches until Friday. I wonder if they have fixed the fact that certain ships still warp backwards after that last major patch.

So I was accepted into Eve Uni and I've been reading a lot of their wiki and listening to / attending some of their classes as possible while continuing to finish the Sisters of Eve missions. My interests right now lie in getting into e-war and scouting, but I think I'm going to have to keep grinding away at PvE missions for money to finance the PvP stuff.

Eve is confusing as hell sometimes!

Eve Uni ... yeaaa. Learn the basics, and get out. Their "style" of PvP is.. well, something.

Can someone explain to me how the new Console planetary game will affect the PC side of things. I read that would be handshake between the surface players and ships in regards to economy and combat. Are all planets viable destinations for console players? Will CCP be able to pull enough surface players to make it work?

I just can't see this having a large impact on day to day eve. Maybe I'm missing something?

We have no idea. They have no given any details really other then, they want Dust to have an impact on Eve and vice versa.

Personally I think it will fail, not right away though. I say this cause console players tend to move from one game to the next very quickly and most games online communities end of dying or very small.

The big plus Dust has for itself in that regard is that is is free. I wouldn't be surprised that a year or so after it is released its community is really small and CCP announces to release it on the PC as well or something.

Yah, lots of people are already imagining scenarios involving Planetary Interaction and stuff, but the reality is that CCP hasn't really said anything.

I don't think it has much chance of succeding either. It doesn't seem very well conceived, and no one has demonstrated that there's much of a market for this kind of game. Although I suppose Call of Duty: Elite is going down a similar road.

PvP in EVE is a negative sum game, so unless you're really good or really lucky you need some other source of income. It doesn't necessarily have to be missions though. You can try other things like exploration, trading or manufacturing.

Haven't played in probably a year, but do the main mission hubs still have the Alpha strike gankers? I remember these guys making billions of isk a day from the modules that carebears were rolling with to their missions.

Yes and no. They just did some major overhauls of missioning, removing all but the three kinds of mission agents (i.e. we are left with combat, courier, and research), so no longer will a combat pilot get a mission to mine 100,000 m3 of something.... They also made all agents Q20, and changed a bunch of other things. As a result, there are now a lot more places people will mission from, spreading the mission runners out a lot more, and thus making it that much more of a pain to simply sit off one of the mission hubs scanning ships for high priced modules and ganking them since the missioners can now be spread out across a lot more systems.

I hadn't realized this, but this is definitely a good thing. Hopefully it'll spread out the population quite a bit.

So Incarna is out now....

I want my old hangar/station look back.

The captains quarters look cool, but jesus, the controls for movement are horrible. It is easier to use both mouse buttons then any other way. Takes longer to do anything in it rather then using the menu panel on the side still.

Walking up and looking at your ship in the hangar looks cool, but that is it really. The ships feel smaller then they should in there too, but that just might be me.

That NEX/Noble shop, LOL
You see the freaking prices on that stuff, especialy that eye implant thing, freaking comes out to like $67 or something. WTF were they thinking.

Needless to say, I turned off the captains quarters, though I am mad they leave you with a static background now instead of the old ship spinning of before.

At least the new turret animations are really nice.

Well, this games come up a few time and I seem to have lots of time on my hands lately so I am downloading the trial client ATM. I hear it's best to join in with a group of people, does AT have one of these 'groups'?

I think there is a corp in game that has a few ATers in it, I think you could ask Michael, Martimus, or JSt0rm. Today might not be the best day to try it out, though, patch day can be pretty bad. Currently it seems like EVE voice is crashing, and jumping through a gate is causing the grid not to load sooo I'll probably be logging for the night.

I have an account that is 4 years old, but not played since trial. Any advantage to either buying a new account or just activating the old one?

Well, the old account will presumably already have a character that's earned a bunch of skill points, giving you a two or three week head start. On the other hand with a new account you can play for free for the first two or three weeks. The former is option is better if you're sure you're going to be playing for while, otherwise the second option will save you some money if you end up deciding to not to play.

Was he still earning points even though I never logged in? That was what I really had no idea about.

You continue to gain SP regardless if you are on or offline as long as you have a skill(s) in your queue.

Yeah, we are still around. Send me an eve-mail if you are interested and I will likely accept you. My eve name is Martimus28.

Here is our killboard: http://nawti.evekb.co.uk/?a=home

Our efficiency is really good this week, because Raiden. moved in to our space and they have lots of expensive ships that they don't know how to fly. That Bhaalgorn was titan bridged in with a bunch of nano ships on our bait Abbadon. One they engaged, the Abaddon pointed the Bhaalgorn, while the rest of our fleet showed up and killed him. the 7-8 nano fit BSes/T2s all warped off, but I got the target I was going for.

Then of course there was the fight in Gond that was also a case of them baiting us, so they could light a cyno, then us lighting a counter and killing all of them: http://nawti.evekb.co.uk/?a=kill_related&kll_id=1850947

But the real measure of how fail they are is the fight in Naka. Just look at the killboard, and you will see that we had no business winning this fight. What you won't see is that they also had an Archon on the field, and a few other recons/hacs that managed to get away. We had around equal numbers, but we were all cheap BCs, and they were not. I still can't understand how they just got slaughtered like that.
