(Got a 0.0 in the class... cuz I never showed up.) So we figure out the mess and I ask what I can do to get it off my record. Well, I need a letter from the teacher who taught the class certifying that I wasn't there. Okay, what's his address? Oh, we don't know; he moved out of state. Yeesh. So I basically have this thing dragging down my GPA and it's impossible to get rid of. Stupid bureacracy.

Didn't you ever look at your grade reports or transcripts? I would've seen that at the end of the semester it happened.

i failed a chem class spring quarter.
the upcoming fall quarter, i retook that same class and i got an incomplete since i didnt take the final.
so the spring quarter after that, i tried to make up the incomplete but didnt get a passing grade. so my incomplete stood as is.
over the summer, i finally passed the class.

4 times taking one chemistry class. graduated w/ BS in chemistry last year at UC Irvine in 4 years still. haha. i never tried in that class at all. and i think i have one of the better jobs compared to the other chem majors from my school. well those that chose work over grad school that is.

Let's just say I failed all but 4 classes my first 3 years of highschool. My senior year I went ahead and did 2 and a half years of credit in one year so I could get out in time. I was having severe problems when I was a teenager, and schoolwork was the last thing I cared about.

fvcking adv. calc 2, I chose to take the "honours" class instead of the regular one and got raped by the over-enthusiastic prof that assumed that this was the only class anyone was taking. I took the regulaqr class the semester after that and got an A without putting any work at all into it. Still didn't help my GPA though which took a beating from that F.

No.

Those of you that failed classes in college because of not attending: did mommy and daddy foot your college bill? In all my time of college, I never saw a single student mess up a class by not attending when he/she was paying the bill. When five years of college cost you 60K or more, you might actually try not to waste your time and money.

No, but did withdraw a few times. I honestly can't see how a person could fail a class without first doing the smart thing and withdrawing. You should have at least one exam before the withdrawal deadline to assess your own situation. Blame it on crappy teaching, textbook, or blame yourself for not studying, you should be able to analyze that your performance isn't so hot and you have little chance of salvaging the situation.
