Because black looks more upscale, higher-end, and just plain nicer than green (or red) ?

It's kind of uncommon to see it on lower end cards. I remember looking far and wide for an all black 8800GT a while back, and XFX was the only company to offer one.

If you resell your card like most us on AT do, XFX lets the new owner get the same warranty
eVGA & BFG force you to register to get more than 1 yr warranty (which i never got around to doing, so only 1 yr. here :frown: ), & if you register, you now just tied the card to you, so the newer owner cannot get the lifetime warranty anyway.

Absolutely BS actually IMO on eVGA/BFG's part.
And all three require registration to even get a lifetime warranty.
More BS.

I don't think that is BS at all. Now, I don't buy a lot of videocards so I can only speak from the experience of my current card (an eVGA 9600GT). It says on the outside of the box "Lifetime Warranty with registration". How can that be BS when it is clearly written in English on the outside of the box?

Now there are some products (like software) that has stipulations that you are not aware of until you open the box. That could be interpreted as BS.

Since you didn't even bother to register your videocards (How long does that take, 3 or 4 minutes?) I have some guesses as to why you don't like rebates:

"Oh my GOD! This company screwed me. All I did was completely disregard the instructions and they denied my rebate!

Ah thanks for the clarification, was going by the NCIXUS banner here on AT that only lists XFX and EVGA.

Its because black computers are faster! Started with black cases and spread to other components.....

Proof that black computers are faster

I've always bought BFG or EVGA cards. Not going to buy anything else unless there is a noticeable price difference.

My reference was to the fact that all GTX 280 come from the same factory in China.

The thing with XFX cards is that they kind of look painted with flat black, making them look a bit odd.
