LeBlatt - I've just finished an exhaustive search of both the current and archived threads and found nothing!:Q

Joe O. - Can you repost it perhaps?

...hmmm, very strange. Perhaps it was abducted by the SETI guys?

A big thanks to Joe and his practice of always making a backup.

I would hate to think that my - 25/1-10-4-13-6-18 "465,724,253,933"
was gone forever.

I came across this stub in about the first or second week of the OGR-25 contest.
It really seems that stubs are not producing the large results that they did in the first couple weeks of the contest.

Anyone know of a reason why this may be true?

I guess I have some really EXTREME stubs here! I sifted through my August proxy log file and this is what I found: -

The smallest:
24/28-12-21-5-3 - 475,238,896

The largest:
25/1-4-11-2-7 - 4,734,856,120,926

Yup, that's right, 4 trillion over nodes in one work unit. YOWZA!!! I have even double-checked with the client log file and confirmed it.

I will be checking my September and October proxy log files later but I doubt I can find anything that beats the above figures.

DroolMan - I think in the past we had a thread in which everyone listed their min/max 25/5 stub. Perhaps Joe can resurrect that thread also.
A stub of size 4 T nodes must have really taken a lot of time. Congratulations.

Doh! I just erased a bunch of logs. I had several in the below 10 size. I had nothing that can compete with LeBlatt's smallest though. I also think I had one other in the 400's, but again it was no competition for LeBlatt.

Here's what I can dig up.

Ok,

This is what I've found after going through 3 months of proxy log files.

Smallest/Largest OGR-25 stub

Oh btw I hope no one actually reads his logs to collect those stubs. If so, please open them in excel and you'll be able to sort them by size.
This should free you some time to sleep : )

DroolMAN,
Your OGR-25 stub has 5 differences. What is your largest stub with [6] differences?

As LeBlatt says, open your log files in Excel, use text-to-columns(under Data) to split it into 2 columns (Fixed Width after date/time and before everything else). Sort it on the 2nd column to group together all the "Completed ....." Delete the rows before and after these rows. Split it into columns again delimited by space and Other '(' and sort descending on the column that has the node count.

Now Droolman look at your largest stubs, and send us the largest one(s) that have 6 differences.

Huh ? Fixed width ? I import as comma-delimited ASCII, and all is fine in 3 clicks o' the mouse.

Joe O,

Now I get what you mean when you said 5 and 6 differences. All this time I was wondering what all those cryptic 24/5, 25/5 and 25/6 are supposed to be. DUH!

But out of curiousity, does anyone know what the difference between the 25/5 and the 25/6

Ok, ok. I had another go with my proxy log files (it is lucky that I keep a B-A-C-K-U-P copy )

Here it goes: -

Smallest/Largest 24/5 OGR stub

24/38-18-3-1-6 - 187,009,243
24/4-9-6-8-10 - 92,246,836,499

Smallest/Largest 25/5 OGR stub

25/1-4-11-2-7 - 4,734,856,120,926 (Only one stub done)

Smallest/Largest 25/6 OGR stub

25/1-39-20-3-2-4 - 2,093,208,340
25/1-7-13-4-11-12 - 428,496,407,211

Phew!

No where near my 25/1-10-4-13-6-18 "465,724,253,933" but certainly larger than any I have processed lately.

DroolMAN! DNet says that the released a "few" OGR-25/5 stubs as a "test". Then they told us that they wouldn't count..., except perhaps as 2nd round verification. I think that they just goofed. The OGR-25/5' s were just too big so they split them up into OGR-25/6's. By the way, I'll post all the OGR-25/5's that you have. I hope that you don't have too many. A few people completed them just for grins, but most people flushed them when they heard that it wouldn't count for stats.

Joe, The pproxy logs. This is from pproxyogr-20001013.log for example :

10/13/00 06:46:47,192.168.0.18,ta-cannibalcows@ragingbull.com,25/6-1-15-20-12-14,204597572316,1,1,8010
10/13/00 14:36:49,192.168.0.4,ta-cannibalcows@ragingbull.com,25/6-1-15-20-12-13,204090100131,1,1,8010

Excel handles them easier

Hi LeBlatt, I figured that you meant a pproxy log. For those of us who only have one machine and have to deal with client logs its still possible, just more tedious. But yes, Excel is a lot easier than reading the log.

Joe O, <- Where I come from, it means "Black Coffee"

Thanks for clearing up the matter on OGR-25/5 and OGR-25/6. I was lucky enough to get only one of the 25/5 stubs so I don't have anymore to give.

I did some more compilation on the log files that I have at home and I am editing my current listing. Here goes: -

Smallest/Largest 24/5 OGR stub

24/38-18-3-1-6 - 187,009,243
24/2-3-15-4-9 - 104,532,902,731 <- New entry

Smallest/Largest 25/5 OGR stub

25/1-4-11-2-7 - 4,734,856,120,926 (Only one stub done)

Smallest/Largest 25/6 OGR stub

25/1-39-20-3-2-4 - 2,093,208,340
25/1-7-13-4-11-12 - 428,496,407,211

I have a suggestion to make to your present list. Instead of listing so many stubs by the same person, put in just the smallest/largest stub submitted by an individual. That way your list will be short and neat. Everyone would be able to see how their submission stands against the others.

I will be keeping an eye on this thread since I am presently moving all my herd to OGR.

Thanks for your compilation work

Cheers.

DroolMAN! I got my nickname in Singapore. I never did make it to KL but I hear that it's a beautiful city.

I like your suggestion about a largest/smallest entry for each person. If no one objects, I will implement it.
