In all businesses, it's a balancing act. Ethics and profits aren't something turned on and off, rather, they're to be looked at an a spectrum

We should all learn from this to take your vehicle ONLY to your vehicle dealership. It might cost a few dollars more, but they have too much to lose (their franchise) to cheat people on an oil change. The few dollars you pay more will come back in safety. Why? Because they most always check every vehicle that comes in for Recalls. A recall is a free service for normally a safety issue. We had one lady with a Fiero come in for an oil change and stayed for 6 hours more so that we could do free recalls on her vehicle. Stay away from the quick oil change shops and the independent shops.

Oh man, just read the comments, it is priceless. Basically, you have half the people saying that they have never noticed a problem and "they treat me so well" with the other half saying they had a problem.

I wonder which makes a better slogan.
"Half the time we screw up your car."
Or
"Half the time we do the job right."

I've never had a problem at the chain places, although I only go to 1 or 2 of them. I've never had anything but a air filter or wiper blades recommended for replacement. I guess this is more prevalent in different parts of the country.

Same deal here. I've only gone to Jiffy Lube to get oil changes. I dont think that I've bought any other package or ever been pressured to spend more.
