F.E.A.R Demo

First of all. Let me say... WOW.

Awesome graphics, awesome physics and some intense gameplay. Now if the story line is half as good as the demo made it out to be, I am so down for this game.

The little girl running around laughing and just catching glimpses of her? Eat your heart out Doom 3!

Anyway. The game lags on the system in sig. It's smooth in some parts, but I get a real bad lag turning corners, etc...

I'm guessing I'm really gonna need 2GB RAM to play this game huh?

I decided to try it out again, since the time i played it last i had only 1 GB RAM.

It certainly makes a big difference

I can now run relatively smoothly @ 1280x960 (since there's no 1280x1024 option :|), whereas before i ran it at 1024x768 to get a half-decent playing experience.

Still though, it doesn't feel entirely smooth, which annoys me, since i have a damn decent system...just not a 7800, which is what this game needs?
Or does it?

My guess is that they are still working on optimizing the game.

If the finished product feels jerky in times on my system, i will not be impressed.

Open "Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Monolith Productions\FEARSPDemo\settings.cfg"in Notepad and edit "ScreenWidth" & "ScreenHeight" to whatever value you like.

Agreed its an awesome game. I really enjoyed the demo, although I had to run medium settings and 12x9 with 0aa to get smooth framerates. I would really love to turn up some settings with the game.

I've got the same impression of the game. It is the perfect mix between HL2, Doom3, and the Matrix. VERY awesome.

I know most games have ways to manually force a rez; i just never know how.

I'm running a much lower spec system and i run it at med-high and just occasional lag. I have 9800 pro, 1gb crucial pc3200, amd xp 2500 o'ced to 2.4

bs - i have almost the same system and if i check all the advanced settings they are mostly minimal, some medium. 800x600 too, no aa, plenty of stuff "off." Still looks damn good though. Smooth as silk at those settings.

I'm talking the settings the game gave me. You changed yours?

Wow. My new system is paying off. I run it at 1600x1200 with no lag on my 3.8 P4, 2GB and 7800GTX.
For the little I played so far, I do like it though. I've got to remap some of the keys though.

I didn't like it. I hate the lack of attention to detail with the circa 1998 monochromatic textures. It runs fine on my system but its graphics don't merit the kind of demands it wants IMO

Its wicked nice! Did anybody find out how to do the different kicks. There are three or more different kicks that you can do in the game. Like a sliding kick on the floor and a round house kick...I havent found out how to do it yet.
