Riiiiight. When you cannot form an argument against what I said, you ignore it at first then call it a dry read when I ask you to say something about it. Then when you do form an argument, it wasn't about what I said specifically and I point it out to you, you go and define inconsideration for me from a dictionary (thanks, like I didn't know). Then Nik sides with you about nonsmokers in general and you think of him as your best buddy and crack jokes. I bet you felt real good about yourself at that point. Does that about sum up all your points? Oh wait, I forgot to mention the words air force or law... that should do it.

Aw, crap. Now everyone's going to be referencing those damned flame warriors.
Bet some crazy Poke/Digi/Yu-Gi-Oh loving forum-goer figures out the idea to make a combat playing-card game out of em and sell them as the "Next Great Card Game Craze To Steal All Your American Money" ... patent pending.

giguana - Who's the fellow smoker? There's an arseload of em here, and you didn't exactly direct it.

Shhhh... Nik doesn't like people complaining. That's not allowed on these public forums. Oppression is okay!!!

1) I don't like people complaining about stupid things
2) These are private forums, not public
3) Oppression is not okay - and neither are whiny little bitches.

I stand corrected about the forums being public... what was I thinking ?!?!

About your #1... If you don't like it, go somewhere else or don't click in this thread. Isn't that what you've been saying?

Reality : Most people are non-smokers, and they don't smoke for good reason, and they don't want to be around smoke for good reason.

To anyone who doesn't smoke, and even to some smokers, smoking is considered STUPID because it smells bad and it's risky for disease. and it's a DRUG ADDICTION, and it's costs alot of money over time. there is no intelligent reason to smoke tobacco, it is simply an chemical tool for physical and emotional satisfaction. Even if smoking is less dangerous than other factors of american society, *it is one risk that is completey avoidable and unnecesary.* that's the facts, jack.

Simply, the thing non-smokers want is to be undisturbed by smokers. This is a perfectly reasonable exepectation. As long as non-smokers arn't bothered of course smokers can smoke outside, or wherever. Just do it out of the proximity of everyone else's path. It may not be a law everywhere, but it's about human decency and respect for those around you. of course, if smokers wuold be considerate in the first place we wouldn't need any of these laws.

BUT.. Smokers here seem to think it's OK to smoke in places where non-smokers have to travel through.

That it's OK to impose the products of thier nasty habit on unwanting people. WRONG.

Thier defense is it's not against the law, and non-smokers are "whiney" for even complaining, and that everyone else in the world should make accomadations for THEM. Thier defense is that it is really THEY who are the victims, because they are often forced to smoke in inconvenient places. It is THEY who's rights are being infringed.

Thier arguments for why the rest of the world should accomadate thier addiction don't even start to make sense, so how can there be a reasonable debate.

You are my newest hero. Not because you see it the way I see it, but because you are able to see the whole picture through this mess of a thread. Where were you with this wisdom before I had to repeat myself for the 5th time?

1) The only person imposing anything on anyone else is the non-smoker who stands there like a fscking idiot yelling at the smokers for not moving out of their own "personal space"
2) There is no intelligent reason to smoke - IN YOUR OPINION. Please do not force your opinion on other people. Stress relief is a necessity, and it's my free choice to decide to kill someone or smoke a cig.
3) You think I'm wrong; I think you're wrong. Go about your business and go around or go away when I'm smokin my stogey because you're the one who's invading my privacy.
4) If someone is there before you are, and you walk up to them and ask them to move, you need to shove it. They were there first, go through and find some place else to be selfish and assinine.

Reality: If you are polite and your request is reasonable most smokers would be more than happy to accommodate you. If you are going to have an attitude then most will more than happy to tell you to go fsck yourself. It's all in the delivery, trust me.

No no no no no.. you're missing the point again Nik. Again Nik. Again Nik. If the smoker would be good enough to realize, not by law.. but by moral standards, that they should not be standing in the way and forcing me to inhale their smoke, then none of these arguments would be necessary. EVERYONE and their dog knows it's perfectly legal (yes, we do) to smoke out there. But why must we even ask them to not blow smoke in our face? Do your children have to ask you? Or would you avoid smoking by them because of your regard for them?

Morals? Bwuhahahahahahaha

morals...

No one's forcing it down your throat. You make the decision to inhale as you keep walking past and ignore it like a grown up. Honestly, you think if you're being a dick (which a lot of people here are), I wouldn't be surprised if a smoker exhaled in your face.
If smoke is lingering because of the smokers, walk through it and be mature about it.

And, if I had kids, I would smoke away from them. You are not a child, even though you're acting like one.
