Only the Christian part of the world practices monogamy. It really wasn't until a couple hundred years after Jesus that monogamy became standard issue. A few exception in ancient Israel but still...

Where do I get it from? Probably from the extensive amount of time I've spent in these parts of the world.
Divorce rate or even marriage rate has nothing to do with this. It's far more complex. African cultures build relationships one woman at a time based on how much they can afford it. Asian cultures have second wives kept away from the mother of their children. A don't ask, don't tell part of their culture.

Humans evolved as a pack of hunters and gatherers who most likely engaged in group sex. "Alpha" style sex behavior is not natural to us. That kind of shit is a result of agriculture and the invention of private property.
