I find it awesome that a woman wrote that.

I think she just killed any future relationships, since its now known for a certainty that she will cheat on her partner. Its just a question of when. But hey, at least, she'll tell you about it.

It has been proven that children have the greatest chance for success coming from a two parent household.

"It has been proven that..." Please point to the proof, specifically with regard to multi-parent configurations, because I think your assertion is your opinion, not something "proven".

I am just a woman with a healthy respect for science.

No, you are a dumbass who wants to get laid and have to rationalize it because you lack real guts.

You don't even know what science is.

What a stupid article. Using their logic it isn't natural to get married at all, or to drive cars, fly planes, watch TV, use a computer, etc.

+1....

iphone is most natural thing for most people now...too much wifi(radiation) in their heads and nothing you can change about...

millions if not billions in the slavery of technology....

People are married to their iphones, they have sex with their iphones...

Try to take away from them that Thing...even grown men will cry like a little baby...

Make good decisions who you're monogamous with and it's easier. Being alone or in frequent shallow relationships isn't 'natural' for most humans either.

Of course it's unnatural.

You're supposed to spread your seed arround as much as possible. That's how your species gets stronger. That's how life works.

Why do you think sex feels so good?

I used to agree with this, but if its so natural why are STDs so easy to get? Isnt that nature's way of saying u shouldnt be sleeping around with everyone? Before the advent of condoms & antibiotics, nature was NOT telling u its natural. I have friends that got chlamydia & the clap 3~4 times, if it wasnt for antibiotics they'd have to deal with that the rest of their life. If they were women they'd have their fertility destroyed.

So, im sorry, i dont think its natural to sleep with as many women as possible cause of STDs. Your urges are there to find a women ure attracted to & have as much sex as possible with HER to ensure u get HER pregnant.

There are different types of monogamy. Some species (3-5%) do pair for life but studies show that most are not sexually monogamous. They'll still have sex with other mates. This allows for better genes.

Where I think people have a hard time is understanding that it can make sense to be socially monogamous. A couple raising a child is going to be far more efficient than a single parent. However being sexually monogamous makes no sense and is really just a religious construct.

People generally tend to try to use birds or penguins as their example of monogamy but they've done enough studies to show that they almost always have sexual flings on the side.

The STDs you may get from sleeping around are only the tip of the disease iceberg. As I got older, I now have a morbid fear of all contagious diseases now. So even if I see someone desirable I might have a chance with, the odds are almost 100% I won't act on it.

Being in a stable relationship at least insures you aren't spreading some zombie disease horror from partner to partner and your own family. Even before microscopes and microorganisms were known, ancient people tried to practice good hygiene and sanitation, especially in the sexual realm. Because those who were stupid and didn't died. But with technology, even the stupidest people with little regard for hygiene or sanitation manage to keep on breeding like rats in spite of themselves and their true nature to be filthy animals.

And as was pointed out, is jealously natural? It sure seems so since nearly everyone seems to feel this way about their partners who they CARE about, regardless of any religious teachings that may be involved. But when you are in a relationship just for sex, the caring part usually flies out the window along with jealousy and then obviously monogamy isn't relevant to that relationship. And their kids are going to mimic the same behavior they see their parents engaging in relationship wise, so the same genetic cycle tends to continue through generations, either monogamous, polygamous, polyandrous or polyamorous.

And the undeniable proof of the success of monogamy in the human species is the fact that human sexual relationships that are closely related tend to favor genetic defects in the children that lead to sterility and deformities which results in a genetic dead end. This familial genetic factor is not at play as much in less complex species, so trying to compare a humans complex mating habits to a bird for instance, isn't even really a valid comparison at all, from a genetic stand point.

I'm not religious at all, quite the opposite and I think you are full of shit.

It makes a lot of sense to me. I don't want to share my loved one and my loved one doesn't want to share me.

Sex with no feelings is worthless to me and my wife.....but I realize that it's "the thing to do" within our society.

Different strokes for different folks.

People generally tend to try to use birds or penguins as their example of monogamy but they've done enough studies to show that they almost always have sexual flings on the side.

Who cares what certain animals/species do.

By your logic, you should be doing this!

Vdub you married your high school girlfriend. Did you ever have a 3 some? Ever discuss it? Ever want it? You never wanted to be with another woman?

We can repress these things as much as we want due to social pressure but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

I dont think children mimic their parents relationships all the time. I have a friend whos parents have been married for 30 years, but he's a big playboy & has no interest in settling down.

I personally couldnt have settled down with 1 girl in my 20s, but in my 30s it all started getting repetitive & i wanted something deeper. I settled down when i was ready, & i respect that my partner wouldnt want me to have sex with other women, so i dont. Losing her over a fling is simply not worth it. All the power to u if u still feel like fooling around, i certainly did my share, but i outgrew it. I find the people still doing it in their 30s & even 40s never had their fill, or the chance to get their fill, when they were younger.
