Hi guys,
I've got a real major problem here with my BXMaster motherboard and some PC-150 Mushkin HSDRAM I just purchased.
I'll give you some background... The PC-150 Ram from Mushkin requires RAM settings of:
Cas Latency = 2
RAS to CAS = 3
Precharge Delay = 2
to run at anything over 124FSB setting.
I'm currently running my P3-700 @ 966 (138FSB) with PC100 Ram and I purchased this RAM in order to reach the 1Ghz mark... however...
When I set the RAM Timings to 2-3-2 in the BIOS, shut down the PC, insert the PC-150 RAM and try to reboot, the system freezes just as its about to start doing the memory test counting thing...
Upon further testing and elmination... I have come to the conclusion that the BIOS settings for the Ram timings, Cas Latency, RAS to CAS and Precharge Delay dont do anything!!!! (((
They are stuck on 2-2-2.
Setting them to 3-3-3 does nothing at all.
To prove this I set the ram to 3-3-3 in the BIOS, loaded Windows, loaded WPCredit and clicked on Offset 76 and in there it reports the Ram timing settings as 2-2-2 (00010111)!
WTF!! Have MSI stuffed up here bad or what??
Am I doing something wrong??
Does it look like the BXMaster is heading for the rubbish bin??
Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.
