You think its worth the hype to get a used car during this week? They have this 00 civic for 4995 (auto) advertised, but ofcourse, they do not disclose the mileage or what trim it is. Do deals really happen during this time? Or is this the time they try to just sell by masses so they give you the lowest price without hassle?

Some of the smaller local dealers may have some going on. There was that buy one get one free promotion a while back. I don't know if it was a scam or not though.

The whole point of advertising is to get people in to the dealer, nothing else.

Cars are no cheaper for the dealer during this week than any other week.

Saturn is offering an extra $1000 off some of their cars. We were looking at the Aura, and it's now $2500 in cash back. Given that they don't negotiate price at Saturn, I think it's pretty clear that it's cheaper to buy their car right now.

There are certain times when the dealership is under more pressure to sell cars. Now when it comes to used cars, it's going to be harder to know what the situation is. You never know how much play they have, nor how much pressure to sell, when it comes to used cars.

No, when we went in earlier this month, it was $1000 less.

Generally when you see a very low advertised price, there'll be some fine print that tells you what stock# that particular car is. Likely, it's the only one there with that sort of price. But they do this to get you on the lot so they can show you another car.

I just wish GM let me use my GM points on Saturn vehicles. I wouldn't mind a Vue.

I also don't think it was buy one get one free either. The payments were for 84 months (7 years) on that deal.
