I dont care how unrealistic it is, I'd like to carry more stuff.
A LOT more stuff. Like five to ten times as much. There are just too many cool goodies lying around. Yes, you can quick travel back to your house in Megaton and drop it off but that still sucks up game time, and you arent always allowed to quick travel.
Not only that but I am amazed at how many schematics I have discovered. All the stuff I used to think was junk is actually good for making gadgets. Too cool. And since you seem to find an aweful lot of tool benches in the game, it would be nice if you could carry around plenty of parts to construct with.
I guess I'll try the mod that sets max weight to 640. The 50,000 mod is just a little too unrealistic.
EDIT:
Also, I already tried a couple of texture replacements from some other sites, but they didnt seem to work for me.
Bah, what realism? My guy can carry 270 pounds without power armor and still run, what's 640?
I probably wouldn't use this mod though cause the only reason I go back to town is because I hit my weight limit. If I could carry everything, I'd just keep the collateral and keep going forever.
I'm surprised that power armor doesn't do that much more for stats though.
SPOILERS
Tesla armor adds to energy weapons and radiation resistance (looks awesome. Enclave is just BoS armour with less of everything except maybe damage resistance. Stalker got it more right. I can't believe that you only get a measely 20lb (BoS armour) boost to carry weight, if any at all, by wearing hydraulic/motor-assisted exoskeleton.
And where the hell is night vision or a directional flashlight? Only vault dwellers get a PiP-boy, so everyone else has to have a light making device of their own. Most people in Oblivion used torches.
Also, not so much a mod, more a 'fix'. If anyone else has mouse lag/acceleration/nausea, it appears that Fallout 3 forces v-sync on, even if you turn it off in the menu. You end up having to use your VC drivers to force it off (which still may or may not work). This was the first FPS in a long time to make me file slightly naseous. Editing vsync to off (iPresentinterval=0) in the INI file did wonders. Tearing is pretty bad in Fallout, but it's way better than all the mouse lag and getting sick.
