Hey fellas I plan on buying the zalman 9500 led hsf. I also want to get a fan controller as well. Can you guys recommend any fan controllers? If you guys have any links, reviews.
This question actually belongs in the Cases & Cooling section...
Depends on what all you want it to do. Probably the best simple fan controller is the Sunbeam Rheobus. http://www.jab-tech.com has been the best price for them now. Some people are bothered by its bright LEDs but there are ways to dim them from coating them with some coats of nail polish to replacing them altogether with less powerful units (easy to do as they plug into machine pin sockets on the PCB.
I have the controller mentioned above and really like it. I have a door on my case, so the LEDs don't really bug me, definitely worth the few bucks that it cost.
The CNPS9500 includes a Zalman FanMate, which allows you to switch between 5V and 12V (from what I've read). You should be fine in terms of noise/lighting.
Fan controllers alone are almost all the same. So I would say get the cheapest one. They do have multi front panel devices with fan controllers as well which might be someting to consider.
The Zalman 9500 comes with a Fan speed controller, the FanMate2. It has a rather long cable adapter that will even allow you to place it on the outside of the case, with wires running in an out. I personally don't use it, but it has rotating knob to vary the speed.
Fan controllers arn't all the same. Small difference. It depends only on whether or not u intend to put MORE than one fan on a single knob. THen u talk about amps
