Look, I'm not going to get in a flame war here, but...I strongly disagree and I'll bet alot of other game players out there do too.
I can't afford to spend all day in front of my computer for kicks, so I play for fun when I can. I've got the difficulty set down low and I find this game very challenging. If just one of those Trigens gets on top of you, it's game over! The Control level had me swarmed with them dang things! Now I'm in the Archives and the bad guys are invisible!
Cheese and Rice!
The AI is not perfect but it's better than some (or most) software. The fact that gameplay is not linear and the story can be played out many different ways is neat. The enemies don't necessarily do the same thing every time you load up. The enemies aren't brain surgeons either but they seem to run for cover and team up (or sneak up) on you more than I've seen in some other games.
Also, this is the first game out that fully exploits the graphics capabilities that some new generation cards can deliver. And I must say again this is a visually stunning game.
With 20 levels of excitement for $40 (or $30) I think Ubisoft and Crytek should be commended for a job well done instead of blasted for every possible perceived shortcoming.
Could it be better? Probably, but we have 5 Cd's worth of action right now, released on schedule with minimal bugs and at a reasonable price. I for one am enjoying the purchase. My GF thinks I'm enjoying it too much, she just doesn't understand the nirvana of a great FPS!
That is all.
