And second, there's been a lot of research on ephedra for weight loss, and very few of them actually show ephedra as an effective metabolism increaser for weight loss. It's estimate that an ECA stack will increase your metabolism by a mere 3%. The weight loss comes from it's other effects, which are it's hunger reduction, and the fact that people on an ECA stack might do their fitness exercises longer than usual (or other forms of activities, such as staying in their garden longer).
YMMV as with anything, but I can do the same workouts and eat the same foods and on EC my weight strips down fairly quickly...I do know most research historically has shown ECA as extremely effective and only recently has counter research came into play, usually by those that sell other supplements.
As far as over-the-counter products go it's hard to beat when taken properly.
The reason the government is stepping in, much like everything else in the USA, is to protect the stupid. Only recently compared to other nations have we gotten automatic up window as the worry was someone would lop their fingers or head off. Now with computer control and current sensing devices they are deemed safe for the public.
My usual recommendation to those trying to duplicate my results was to start with a baseline bloodpressure and pulse and then take 1 capsule and check it again in 30minutes to an hour and see...then if all is well take another 1 in about 4 hours and try to check again, and then the final dose in 4 hours....I try to keep 5 hours between doses and none after 5pm.
Once they know they can tolerate it then do the 2 capsules 3x a day....some say 2x a day is just as effective, but none will say more than about 60mg/600mg total in 24 hours is going to give any greater advantage.
