I tend to see it as the oposite, if you are in love with someone, the more you get to know them, the easier it is to look past the flaws, and the more attractive you find them. I found my ex-wife no less attractive after having 2 kids, even though she gained weight and had stretch marks. It was our personality conflicts that ended the relationship, which is how it always seems to end up, either we don't get along at all, or they think I'm very nice but just want to be friends. I'm just another nice guy, who is doomed to be alone.

i tell you, i have said it before, and it just depends on where the weight lies and how a woman carries herself. if i told you how much i weighted, you wouoldnt believe it if you saw me. I don't think you could guess if you saw me either.
Marliyn Monroe was a "hefty" size 12, but you would never think that by her photos. see

Don't even get me started on the nice-guy thing again...

But yea, that's what me and geekbabe were arguing about, but i think we agreed to disagree.

Skinny girls are a turn off for me. The ones who I have dated were more worried about thier looks and how people saw them than the world around them. I dated a hefty girl (5'5" 200lbs) by chance and never looked back. I like girls who don't make their looks a priority over health and those around them.

Would you rather date a size 14 who was confident with herself and her body, or a size 2 who was always worried about the way she looked?

Oh yeah I was talking to my gf and sizes in America are smaller then for the same UK sizes . I didn't know this and I found it quite funny. USA show shoe sizes are also marked up 1 size bigger then UK ones or is it that UK ones are 1 size smaller?

A size 2 that always worried about the way she looked, but did so without expressing it to me.

When someone lacks confidence it's gonna show, whether they come out and say "I think I look like hell" or not.

Since when does worrying about how you look equal a lack of confidence?

Oh sorry, when I said "worrying about how she looks" i meant always thinking she looks terrible, isn't comfortable with herself, worries what other people think about her...that sort of thing.

Ilovelamp,

I got to say I'm always confused by that whole men with style thing? What does this word "style" mean. My clothes selection style is very simple...

1) Is the said item of clothing clean, and not overly wrinkled. (overly wrinkled is a term used to describe above average in relation to other clean items of clothing.)

2) Does the item fit comfortably.

3) are the visible holes and stains acceptable for given outing.

4) wear item that passes 1-3.

5) Repeat with other clothes. Each sock is considered an individual item. Matching is not necessary.

However since having a girlfriend, 2 steps have been added.

1) show clothes selection to gf

2) change into something she says I'm allowed to wear and still get some later.

Hahaha, that sounds about right for most guys. All the guys I date are the Abercrombie & Fitch collar-poppers with strategically torn jeans....I don't like when guys wear running shoes unless they are exercising, shirts should be fitted, jeans should NOT have to be held up with hands, a belt should do the trick, doo-rags (sp?) or those huge t-shirts from Changes or such stores are unacceptable....and so on and so forth. I'm terrible, I know. But for some reason it's just important to me.

Time out..... did you say collar poppers? You date losers.... you realize that right?
Any male who spends time "strategically" tearing their jeans needs a good drop kick.
-Max

strategically torn jeans? man! i know a friend who knows a guy that knows techniques in tearing jeans, something about going against the line?? on top of that the guy is studying to be nurse, you do the math!

Probably gonna go a long time without posting and then become addicted for another day and do absolutely nothing else. Fun times.
