Faulty RAM

I built a new system a little while ago and got 2x512MB PC3200 Mushkin value RAM. I got a good deal on it so I figured what the hell.

So I install it, and I immediately have problems installing Windows. After countless trial and error procedures, I run memtest, and find that one stick is entirely filled with errors. I figure ok, it's defective. I use the working one, install Windows, and RMA the other.

I get the replacement, install it, and everything seemed to work fine, though there were some stability issues. Finally the system just starts dying on me, with a BSOD on startup. I check the RAM again, SAME problem... one works, the other doesn't.

Now my question: Can it possibly be something I have configured wrong? When tested individually, one works fine while the other doesn't. Has anyone heard of such a thing happening twice?

It's leading me to believe that it's not faulty RAM but some misconfiguration in the BIOS or something, though it would make sense that neither stick would work then, right? Or do you think that ZipZoomFly has some faulty batch of Mushkin memory and I happened to get 2 defective items?

the RAM may be fine, its just that it doesnt work well with your motherboard

Then why would 1 work and not the other?

PS, I have a MSI Neo4-F.

I used to use Mushkin in all my builds, untill I started getting "Blitz" branded memory from them. I had 10 PCs to build and not one working stick of RAM.......

That would be the kind. So it's possible that this memory just sucks enough for me to get 2 faulty sticks?

It's crap

Just RMA it and buy Kingmax, Kingston, Corsair, etc.

Check your Motherboards memory computability list if you want to be safe.
