I can assure you, I am FAR more emotionally attached to my cars than you were to your jeep.

Probably my '96 Sebring convertible (which is now in pretty piss-poor condition but it'll be ok for my oldest to drive...just banged up and the roof leaks).

70F or so, twilight, top down, cruising along the river or down to the night spots...great driving.

I'd have to say, the first car I bought and owned myself at 16. '92 Geo Storm I picked up in 1994. It was fun enough to drive despite lacking real power. It looked decent enough that I was able to get a few dates without making them run for the hill from my ugly car. It also never had a single problem to speak of until someone t-boned me while I was at college 3 years later. Grrr. Since it was my first car, it it looked good, ran good, and did it's job I'll always havea place for it in my heart which is right now the number 2 spot.

After that, I had a POS '91 mustang LX I purchased back in 1998. This thing was the worst buy I've ever made. It looked bad, sucked for driving on snow and ice in Colorado, and did I mention it looked BAD? I doubt I could pay a girl to go near that thing. At least it ran the entire time I had it.... if you don't count the fact that someone the right tire rod ends got bent to hell and whenever you made a left turn it felt like the right side tires were about to fall off completely. Despite this, it was a cheap buy at $3000 and a cheaper sell 4 years later at $350 to some guy that needed a car more then me and could work on them. This one is on the bottom of my list. Man it was SLOW too and definately not fun to drive and the heater sucked too.

Next car I got while I still had the mustang was a 1997 toyota corolla. I still have this one. It is more fun to drive then the mustang but less so then the storm I had. It has good gas mileage at least and at one time didn't look tooo bad. Not impressive at all, but I think most people are apthetic to its looks. Now it has a few dents and a funny smell from the backseat after I've driven home a few to many drunk friends that puked in the back and you never really can get that smell to go away. Not ever. It's third on my list of four cars I've owned. I'm going to clean it up as best as I can and give it away as a wedding present to my cousin this Christmas since she needs a car when she and her fiancee move down from Alaska to Houston.

Now on to my favorite car. My RX8 I just bought. Need I say more?

1985 GMC Jimmy that I got as a hand-me-down from my brother. It was a hunk of junk but it was fun to drive around the beaches of Corpus Christi, TX.

My favorite car was my '63 vette convertible. I sold it about 4 years ago because I needed the money.

so you are asking us what cars we have owned. ...

Jeep Grand Cherokee (nice and roomy, great for winter)
two (2) Ford Explorers (Eddie Bauer editions, comfy but lots of problems with both)
2001 Nissan Maxima (just enough power to be fun, handled extra passengers, i liked)
2003 Nissan 350z (great car for the money, extremely fun to drice)
2003 Honda Civic EX (still have, tremendous gas mileage, no problems)
2004 Volkswagen Toureg (a beast of an SUV. lots of small annoying problems, V6, V8 and turbo diesel available, great looks, worth the money/....maybe not).

Are you leaning towards an SUV? or family sedan? Maybe go test drive a grand cherokee, they look interesting.

Might be getting one of these for the wife next October when the lease on her current car is up. We can't decide between that and the 4Runner. We drove a Pathfinder (almost bought it instead of the Max), but there is ZERO room in the second row of seats, and the third row is all but useless. It's too bad, because it drove like butter.

Oh you should definitely go with the 4Runner, thos SUV's are hot as long as you don't mind the low gas miliage.

And my favorite car is the one I just bought.....05 Dodge Magnum RT w/ Hemi, fully loaded.

Also had:
97 Dodge Ram 1500 - (loved that truck but not as much as the one I have now)
98 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS - (just something to get around in as far as I'm concerned)
03 Nissan 350Z track edition - (enjoyed that car all summer, but you can't drive it in the winter)

My current Mazda3s. The only other car that was mine (but I didn't really "own" it) was a '95 Grand AM SE V-6. I used it for a while during college, and had a lot of fun with it, but my Mazda3s is a lot better.
