Favorite Toppings on a Pizza

Italian sausage and green peppers. The problem with peppers (or onions) is that the excess moisture tends to get into the crust and make it soggy. So when I order this, the pizza doesn't have the right texture until I reheat it in a convection oven. Then it's perfect. Crispy crust, crispy sausage.

But, yes, your general premise is correct.
I could go for a Napolean style wood-fired pizza, fresh dough, fresh mozzarella, and fresh sauce ... It's really all that's needed for a great pie.

A really really good pizza crust with delicious sauce and all fresh good ingredients coal fired ... gonna be fuckin amazing no matter what the toppings are.

Banana Peppers are the only topping I really care for, but I'm not picky if someone else ordered it. I'll still eat almost anything. Sometimes I get a specialty pierogi pizza from this one pizza place that's pretty good which has mashed potatoes and glazed onions in-place of the sauce. I also dump crushed red pepper and grated parmesan cheese on any pizza I get, if you want to count that.

Sweet pizza is not for everyone. Some people have ideas about what kind of flavor profile something is supposed to have. Putting Pineapple on the pizza shatters that perception, thus, achieves a rabid loathing from some.

My fiancee loves pineapple, but she HATES pineapple pizza.

I love pinapple on my pizza, but otherwise am more or less towards pineapple as a whole.


So, its a matter of principle.

I guess it depends where I'm getting it, but a good linguica pizza is always awesome.

I like anchovies every now and then.

My favorite is Italian sausage or meatball with mushrooms. Spinach and garlic are also good if the place has them.

and Ricotta or goat cheese for a nice twang

Jalapeno and pineapple are good additions.
Load with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, normal bacon.
Then mozzarella, romano, feta cheeses.
That should about do it.

Oh wait, maybe some Ranch to dip in.

Grilled chicken, green peppers, pineapple, with red pepper flakes on top after cooking. Invented this when I was at the pizza shop. Great combination (hard to imagine if you haven't had it before, but the flavors do blend really well), provided you can handle fruit on a pizza.
