Fearmongering ignorant news broadcasters

I wouldn't mind so much, but I just know this is going to spread and I'm gonna have to listen to endless hours of commentary by people with IQs roughly equivalent to a kumquat. I've met Senators, Congressmen, and even a Vice President with my weapon on me. Never an issue before. Granted, never a President, as the two rallies I attended were on school property.

Perhaps its another argument for concealed carry...at least then we wouldn't have to listen to it like it was news worthy.

9mm? Pshhh....

Yah, MSNBC was making hay out of nothing. He'd be dead before his hand reached the gun if he tried to pull it on the President.

Holy shit MSNBC. You have the right to speak freely and be utterly retarded; he has the right to be present and armed.

My IQ is around 160.

But lets see:

1. The POTUS has received a lot of death threats.

2. There is a man with a gun standing along the route the POTUS is going to be driven on.

You guys do not have any issues with this situation?

Not for two hours?? If they really were worried about him the last thing they would want is for some national news agency to run a piece on him. Of course they're free to do so what with the bill of rights and all, ya know.

lol how many people do you think carry guns within the perimeter you are thinking? I would guess a lot more than you think. Your 160 IQ apparently is worth shit.

It is legal.

I would not want to strip a guy of his rights, not even for the president. President's rights shouldn't trump rights of others. Sadly this is not always the case, but this this is how it should be IMO.

Where are these ridiculous people who are shocked to death by someone with a gun strapped to their leg?

edit: I'm torn on whether or not there should be an exception for a temporary amount of time within a certain range of the president...but I wouldn't be the one that would make that call and violate the rights of a citizen.

Maybe just stick an agent next to him.

I can't believe people are on this video asking why they can't just get rid of him NOW...:/

There are laws in this country, and rights. Those don't disappear just because the President wants to make a public appearance. If he's worried, don't go out. That's not difficult to figure out.

I have ZERO issues with the situation, except the sensationalist coverage of it. I GUARANTEE you that there are weapons present at most political rallies. With such a large percentage of population carrying (legally and otherwise) you would have to be an idiot to believe you're ever someplace in public without a weapon around you. The presence of weapons isn't a threat, however. The presence of INTENT by an individual is, even if they don't have a weapon.

#1, true. But when W was presidnet, it seemed many deranged folks on the left had much more vivid fantasies in print and on film abut killing W.

#2. Well, how far in advance should the route be cleared of all possible Safety issues? 10 minutes? 30 minutes? 1 hour? 4 hours? 24 hours? Also remember that the presidentsa limo is one of the most heavily armored vehicles in the world.

Oh, and having a high intelligence doesn't automatically mean you have any common sense.
